We used to go to Diamond Head Market for brecky all the time before our snorkeling day. They used to be open everyday for breakfast until Covid ruined everything. They just recently reopened for breakfast but only on weekends now. They have really good omelettes and pork hash too but I do love the banana pancakes!!

I agree with you, the costs are the reason why I seldom go to Zippys. Currently, their Roast Turkey plate is $19.15; that's nearly twenty dollars... insane. And their portions aren't proportional to the high price. Their regular plates are the size of some of the minis around town. And their regular plates are upwards to five dollars more per plate than other local eateries.

When I go to Zippy’s I go in the evening or at night never ever was my Korean fried chicken has never been cold. I’m sorry about your chicken experience. I actually recently had their special of Korean fried chicken with chili and rice plate.
I really appreciate you as a local boy pronunciation of Hawai’i. I was watching another local boy food video and he pronounced Hawai’i as Ha-why.
I’m sad Nana doesn’t enjoy Laulau but as locals say “more for me.”

Pipi is the Hawaiian name for cow. Pipikaula is Hawaiian dried beef. Loved the video, more places to visit next time we hop over or drive to Hilo. Regarding Zippys, yeah, I feel like their food has gotten a bit pricey for what it is. While I started with Zippys chili, in high school I discovered Rainbows. Their chili goes excellent with their mac salad.

Funny how the two local celebrities like Zippys. I do too. Especially when I return from a long trip, the first place I always go to is Zippys. While the food is expensive, like how it is all over the place, Zippy's is my go to place after being away from home for a while.

I pick up Zippys Chili here in LA at Marukai market. Love it ! Last time I was a Zippys in Waikiki … it wasn’t good. Unfortunate. The best one is in Maui ! Nana looks 🌹amazing !
