Growing up in the cult I thought that going to Bethel one day would be nice. It didn't take me long before I knew that there was no way that I was going to ever do that. I just didn't like jehovah witnesses enough to want to be around them all of the time.
Excellent Marcus! Isn't it something when we look back at some of the most bizzare moments we experienced while in the collective and say to ourselves, why the heck didn't we walk or run away from this group at that time? I do. Thank you again for the fine video!
Yikes! Former Elder here, Marcus. I was surprised by the shoddy treatment you received upon arrival. Oddly, I wasn’t surprised by the “greeting “ the married Sister gave you! All part of the theocratic life I suppose. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Best to you.
I wasn’t raised in the organization but I eventually dedicated myself to Jehovah and got baptized. Although I wasn’t raised in the organization I can relate to this in a way. I was almost a ministerial servant . As much as i prayed about this matter everything pointed to the fact that it isn’t the truth. As much as I wanted it to be the true Gods organization I knew that it couldn’t be and never was.
Like yourself, so many of us were very true and sincere and followed the rules and obeyed to a “T”. For what??? To be treated badly and then to be thrown away like it was nothing? THEN to be hoodwinked?? The WTBTS did not deserve people like you and myself and others…. or anyone for that matter. Thank you for another great video Marcus. I enjoy them all
If you want to go to bethel to be unpaid slave labor, then by all means apply. All other aspirations are off the table. That's what the brother should have said.
lol...I don't think I sinned this week. ...y'all ain't got no more chicken.that ain't keeping it real..that ain't represent'n...lol.... I said that to an older sister and she was like oh yeah you sinned once your feet hit the floor when you woke up...lol...All JW Elders when I was going thought because I was divorced and had my own I ...I had to be doing something behind closed doors...I'm sorry, but the JW organization always thinking that everybody is low down dirty like them....nah I'm not...I believe in Karma ....I can't believe I let this organization control some years of my life....I feel sorry for my brother because he went back to being controlled by JW men and he jumping through hoops to this day for them
Thanks for sharing. Really absolutely believed people lived on holy spirit so thick that you have to cut it with a knife. Practically in a heavenly realm!!
I remember when my mom was pushing me to go to bethel. She says she was never pushy but lol my memory tells otherwise. I don't think if I was picked that I could have been as quiet about it.
Watchtower is high maintenance. My advice is don't go to Bethel. Learn a skill that fits your personality and move forward with it. They can keep their Gay Quarterly magazines and their super egos. All their fancy clothes and telling us that they are in a vow of poverty is just an act.
I believe that some of the most passionate activists are those who were the staunchest believers, perfecting everything in their life like a robot. No matter how emotionally detached I am from this org, my heart aches each time a hear a crushing awakening story to a harsh and abusive reality. Seriously, no one called to check on you and mom after taking that long drive out to the promise land of Bethel. And for real, your young, spiritual innocent self did not feel any kind of awakening when that braising, horny wife focused on you like no woman before? You truly were a good, spiritual by the book man making the org proud.
