Working on My Swing | Vertical Finish Like the Legends ⛳️

In this video, I take you inside my personal swing work as I focus on one of the most powerful fundamentals in the game — the vertical finish with folded elbows in front of the body.

This move was used by some of the straightest drivers in history:
✔️ Ben Hogan
✔️ Jack Nicklaus
✔️ Moe Norman
✔️ Annika Sörenstam
✔️ Calvin Peete
✔️ Greg Norman
✔️ Bruce Lietzke

By folding the arms and keeping the clubface square through impact, you reduce face rotation and eliminate the two-way miss — giving you balance, control, and effortless power.

Folding the elbows in front of the body was Jimmy Demerit’s swing key.

My dad swings like Jack Nicklaus. He hits it straight.

Thank you, Christo. I truly appreciate the multiple camera angles. It would be great to see the tracers on the balls you're hitting. I believe that would be a wonderful touch to your videos.

Good finish

That driver swing looks awesome. Looks like your hips are leading a good 45 degrees at impact!

I recently watched Caddyshack the other day. Michael O'Keefe, who played Danny Noonan, has the same swing you are talking about. Hard to believe the movie was in 1980 and seeing golfers using persimmon woods. 😆

Cristo Thank you, I wish I could train with you. I'm from Oklahoma but working on miracle swing

Can you please make a video of your swing doing 1 face on and 1 down the line in slow motion. Have driver iron and wedge all in 1 video. Possibly just an intro and then the six clips? That would be an amazing help to watch before a round of golf!

Hello Cristo I have not seen you do a detailed analysis of Bruce lietzke. I have always like his upright fade swing with power. I saw him live at Canadian open was very impressed.
Bill melhorn also have a look at

I have given this in front of my body release a try using no lag. Shaved five shots off my game first time out. My consistency is tons better.

Fully agree here for accuracy/consistency you can hitting power fades with this technique it's the "vertical swing" Langer is my hero iron player and still knocking the stick out on champions tour!!

This is how I swing. Got there from watching/reading Wild Bill Mehlhorn. Who I believe Ben Hogan considered the best guy from tee to green that he saw.

Great content and the rebranding sounds succesfull! I would love to see you do a tpi assesment.

@ray1dad 1 year ago

So how do you turn the corner and swing up like them?

@phillipkleinman8726 1 year ago

I believe Johnny Mille and Colin Montgomery also have this follow through

It’s odd that you have introduced this , as I discovered it whilst tinkering with my swing during a dreadful round a couple of weeks ago. Seeing your endorsement validates what I am doing rather than my believing I’ve just added a quirk to my swing. To me it feels like the club is now swinging in a pendulum motion out front of my chest rather than wrapping around my chest to the left. Much prefer the name ‘ Classic Swing ‘. Good luck with rebrand.
