I cannot accept this Pirate slander. It was a decent song and its album had some banger b-sides like Nighty Night and Company.

Let’s be honest, a lot of people were waiting for an EVERGLOW video

I cannot accept Pirate slander! I'll admit I was confused when I first heard it but to this day it still pops into my head at random times. It's such a banger lol. I've always loved Everglow and it's been sad to see Yuehua mistreating and underutilizing them; I'm happy they're finally free, and i really hope they all sign with the same agency so they can continue activities

I feel like discussing Everglow’s history is incomplete without the many scandals they’ve unfortunately fallen to. They couldn’t do anything without being dragged. “Adios” got hated for sounding too much like “KiII This Love” by Blackpink. And then when it became EG’s first win, it wasn’t a victory that could be celebrated because fans did the math and it allegedly robbed Dreamcatcher for their first win with “Deja Vu”. And during “Pirate” era promotions, Yiren didn’t bow or something at a fan meet because it went against her culture. This sparked outrage and is potentially what caused the extensive hiatus between late 2021 and mid-late 2023 as Yuehua was trying to gauge whether or not keeping Yiren in the group would be the best decision.  And those are just the most prominent ones in my opinion. It felt like every comeback was met with scrutiny.

Retouching upon the hiatus, it couldn’t have come at a worse time. That was around when we saw debuts of groups like IVE and Billlie. A couple of months later, NMIXX. Then Le Sserafim and NewJeans. Not to forget that XG and TripleS debuted around this time too. It wasn’t 2019 any more. There weren’t many prominent groups back then aside from Itzy, (G)I-DLE, Iz*one, and Loona. Now the industry saw a massive surge in 4th gen girl groups, and Everglow was nowhere to be seen to keep themselves relevant amongst the competition. It really sucks how they were never able to catch a break and that most likely led to the group’s falling out of popularity.

13:34 pirate is triple plantinum in ny room

Y’all better put some respect on Pirate’s name 😠 forever a misunderstood banger and went platinum in my brain

La Di Da is such a timeless masterpiece. I hope they make more music like it. It was a unique sound that not a lot of other 4th-gen groups.
edit: and hopefully they get a lightstick haha

The Pirate slander 😭 But La Di Da is my favorite as well haha. The lyrics in Pirate could be better, but the beat still hits hard. I'd go crazy in the club to Pirate.

Its crazy how itzy and everglow were the biggest group at that time. Kpop was so much fun back then

Let's hope Everglow can stay together as 6 under an agency that values and respects them while they can still use their name & old songs, that would be the dream scenario for me as a Forever.

Everglow, forever let's go! (this also answers your favourite song question 😅)

pirate is my favorite song by them 😭 i had it on repeat for weeks. love it to this day. can't believe that's the start of the "decline" for you

I just hope there will be a bright future for Everglow

Everglow will always be ICONIC

CAUSE I’M A PIRATE YEAH YEAH

As someone who loves gnarly on a second listen, I'm proud to say I LOVE PIRATE from the very first listen 😀

Everglow could've been IVE before IVE.  They had such an incredible run to start their career.  Raising the bar with each comeback.  But then, Yuehua apparently stopped trying.  It's so crazy to me because they were right there.  They could've been huge, right there with the biggest names of the 4th gen.

I'm just glad they're out of that company.  I hope they manage to land on their feet and sign with someone good.  Their story isn't over.

Pirates are camp. Their discography were great than most kpop groups but my fav would be La Di Da

Man… I love EVERGLOW…

While I loved LaDiDa, I'm one of those who loved the hot mess that's Pirate.

Not loving Pirate is crazy work
