Memories. The weather was the story here and "the catch" was the story in Frisco. What a great time to be a fan in the NFL. Not so much anymore.

This is the coldest game played where the original broadcast has been preserved. I watched it many times.

I was 11 years old at the time and im from Ohio. It was one of the coldest days in my childhood. I remember they canceled school the next day.

It was so incredibly cold!
The Chargers had no chance…. Story goes that Dan Fouts was getting off the plane in Cincinnati. The moment he felt the cold air, he turned around and went back into the plane….

It’s a shame the Super Bowl wasn’t played outdoors in Detroit. Cincinnati would have walked all over the 49ers.
