I've listened to Tool since the 90's. In all that time I've never seen a single clip of Danny being anything other than a stand up, likable dude.

Danny seems like your one friend’s dad who was so kind and gave great life advice. The dude is so humble.

" I feel like I can play anything ". Understatement of the century.

The fact (by danny’s account) that
Bob Ludwig, master engineer, was able to pick up a floor tom lug bolt loose from a track by ear, and was able to single out that noise by eq’ing it out for all the others to hear it is outstanding.

In the early days there was a huge mystique around Tool … no band photos in their albums - I wondered if the music was being played by aliens or spirits because it was so groundbreaking and incredible. Now we see them very calmly, intelligently and articulately chatting about their music and life like old friends or neighbours. Bravo men for a wonderful journey.

6:13 Dear Lord I just looked up those speakers and it’s $370,000 for a pair of them.

He seems like a really kind soul, absolute behemoth of a drummer.

the wide shot makes Danny look like a GIANT

I feel like TOOL has the most equal mixing. Most bands the vocals project well above the guitar bass and drums. In TOOLs mixes, Maynard’s voice is just another instrument.

I love hearing someone finally differentiate the voice from the other instruments.  People will slag an aging singer all day long while praising how the guitar player still has his tone.  An instrument is not going to diminish the same way a a singer’s voice will.  And you can always update or buy a new instrument, whereas the singer’s instrument is his/her body.  No one ever points that out; here it is in this interview.

Imagine driving in your car and you pull up next to Danny Carey blasting the next Tool album.

Every Tool show I've been to my eyes eventually fixate on Danny and his drums, absolutely amazing musician

Nice of Danny to join us on Earth, every now and again. Much appreciated...now back to the Astral Plane, you go, sir! 🙏🏿🤲🏿

Danny is one of the most humble human beings on the planet.

He's incredible. Such a great drummer.

I’m afraid Danny is a 1/1. There won’t be another drummer like him bc look at him, he can do the parts bc he’s a giant.
So please record as much as you can.

I’m a drummer over 50 (nowhere NEAR his level, he’s a true master) but man, when we do a full 3 hours I’m just done…. It’s brutal. Hats off to him to be able to play at that level for that long…. He’s just an amazing player. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to hear your playing, it is a true gift to the world.

This needs to be much much longer! I could listen to these for days

If I only had 50% of Danny's drumming talent , I 'd be one of the best in the world ..........

For Danny to be so relaxed about Maynard picking the set list was very cool. How he respects what he does still to this day. I hope these guys never fall out with one another. They've complimented each other for so long and made some of the most influential music of my generation. I hope they're able to stay an inspiration for musicians on how to do this business right for years to come.
