[ ⚠ YES, THIS IS MY SONG! I TAKE COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT YOU'RE HEARING IN THIS VIDEO. ⚠ ]

flashback time! it's October 31, 2021. i was 13 years old, hadn’t even thought about making music as a hobby, let alone a career. i was browsing an unofficial Friday Night Funkin’ subreddit when i first saw the Hypno’s Lullaby mod - more specifically, the song Monochrome. being 13 years old, i thought it was the coolest thing in the whole universe, and followed the mod’s development every day since, up until the mod’s unfortunate cancellation in october of 2022.

so i’m sure you can imagine my excitement when, in late november of 2025, i was reached out to by BeefStarchJello to compose the new version of Monochrome, with fellow composer and prog metal demon MarStarBro, for Lullaby’s official revival. to put it lightly, it was a very challenging song to make, but i'd like to think the result was absolutely worth all of the effort. this ain't your grandma's Monochrome - not to spoil anything for you description-readers, but it's among the most emotionally charged, visceral and cathartic songs i've ever made and it has been such an honor composing this monumental remake of an iconic song. i hope you all enjoy it as much as me and mar did making it!!

That moment. BF and Gold sat together in silhouettes of blood, against that white background, is one of the most gorgeous things I have genuinely ever seen. Two people, so similar both rising to the top, only to be left rotting and forgotten. It doesn't feel like a rap battle in that moment, as they just sit together, almost asking "Was it worth it?" Absolute Masterpiece, and I dont think I'd ever heard a song from you before now. Immediately a Top 5 FNF musician in my eyes, and can not WAIT to see what you do next. I was so scared seeing that monochrome was being remade, but you smashed it. (And thank you to the comments for reminding that this is in fact gold not silver)

I genuinely was so scared at first that this wouldn’t live up to the original Monochrome, but I was also scared that it would try to be too much like the original. OH MY GOD! I genuinely DID NOT EXPECT THIS TO BE AS PEAK AS IT WAS!!! You and the rest of the team are clearly putting maximum passion into this project; the music is absolutely flawless, AND THOSE ANIMATIONS!!!

i love bfs chromatics so much this part genuinely sounds like hes just cackling 4:22 and i love that so much it still sounds like he had that cockiness before he died

The artstyle, the song...
This feels more like an interactive short film then a rhythm game

1:54 Its cool how you can see how his head is slowly starting to become loose from his body, until it finally gets torn off. Really cool detail

YOO I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING WITH THE UNOWNS!!

They were told to be vultures disguised as ancient writings right? That is why they literally look like the eyes of a vulture, that is so friggin cool I love this song!

This is the best glow up of an fnf song I have ever witnessed, the animation quality left me speechless for the whole thing

5:32 this part is so beautiful and somber. Usually Bfs chromatic ruins most fnf songs yet this part combined with the instrumental and Golds low pitched notes adds to the melancholy of it all

this is absolutely PHENOMINAL. i am a sucker for longer songs that tell a story across its duration and this entire experience, from the sound to the visuals, is top of the line! i even love the subtle details like gold and bf's voices changing during the animated/blood segment since its more detached from their dead forms and grittier vocals. this one will really stick in my head from how impactful it is in both direction and quality. INSANE WORK AND KEEP IT UP !!!

0:20 I love that he humms a tiny melody before noticing Bf Is so amazing, and I gotta say I love the detail that Gold's body is slowly rotting (if its rotting idk :p.) And that bf is lit a zombie or something similar is pretty creative and JESUS CHRIST The back story of Gold after frostbite is amazing how he crawled seeking for help just to get used as a vessel. This song plus the aniamtions makes this song the Peakest song of all time.

I just feel so bad for gold man ..like even at 4:34 he just looks so miserable i know hes hurting so badly but the visuals are so good though i feel for him man..

1:31 I can't help but stress how much this moment alone has been at the back of my mind since I was first able to see it, genuinely heart wrenching, incredible mood setter, stellar timing.

I LOVE how they gradually shifted the voice of gold to become lighter in the next 10 seconds, it adds to this like- heartbreak of knowing he was just a kid🥀

@gioddude 2 months ago (edited)

3:51-4:26 is a heavy fucking masterpiece. the screams from gold waking up the unown, and that beautiful, get-wrenching scream BF hits and those visuals??? fuck this is my favorite FnF song of all time, I thought unbeatable was truly unbeatable, but this song proved me wrong. still love unbeatable tho!!

4:49 Someone pointed out that the hand here is from the move, Fake Out, most likely used by the Unown King, due the claw like thing that bites his hand, honestly, insanely impressive that they even noticed that.
