Imagine an artist nowadays having an importance and influence on culture that was grand enough to hold a press conference and all in attendance would actually care deeply about what they had to say.
OMG, he was so cute when he was young, he had incredible lips...and his way to laugh and trying to hide it sometimes, his being so nervous, full of life and his attitude generally....his way of kidding most of the time...I love it!
A lesson in the art of speaking cryptically. Never answer a question directly and avoid being labeled, even positively. How Dylan knew not to get involved in all the drama of the times is beyond me. The level of discipline is rare, ESPECIALLY for a guy in his early 20's. Fun to watch!
"I want to needle them" is the most revealing answer to me, in that he (uncharacteristically) answers quickly, directly, honestly, and meaningfully. Makes you reassess those songs. Rewatching some Bob after seeing Complete Unknown.
At 11 I refocused my attention to Dylan instead of the Beatles. Happy I did. Loved the lyrics immensely of all his songs. My classmates couldn’t understand me! I didn’t care. I just kept listening and enjoying my favorite singer for all my life. Saw him 3 times. Such great memories. At my age 71 I still appreciate his music. I loved his voice also because it was so genuine. Keep it rolling Bob! ❤❤❤.
At around 6:07, when he is listing his favorite poets -- it's an amazing list -- he names Allen Ginsburg, the then-famous author of a book of poems called Howl. A few seconds later, the camera rests on a balding, glasses-wearing, bearded guy in the audience. That's Allen Ginsburg. No lie, for a second I thought he was David Cross via time machine. But no, that nerdy fellow is one of the greats
