All these 3.6 billion years of evolutional progress just to see a specimen of the most advanced species on earth attach a microphone to another microphone. 😉😊

Delightful.  I've got my Ph.D. in evolutionary biology and I never heard a prof give a lecture as much fun as this.  Well done.

I've always enjoyed that "some fish went for a walk and now I have to pay a mortgage" joke.

All those hominids not having a chin and I'm sitting here with a double 😮‍💨

"Without them there's no you, and even more terrifying, no me." LOLOLOLOLOL

I'm realising that combining the quality of one microphone with the theater and stage presence of the other is a power move

How dare youtube hide this from me for 2 minutes

01:25 NOO! GO BACK! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING! GO BACK IN THE WATER GRANDPA!!😭😭😭

I don't even check your titles anymore, I just play the vid and let you teach me while I work

I literally screamed internally when you mentioned shanidar cave in zagros, im from kurdistan-iraq and that place is in my country. And btw I LOVE YOU AND THIS CHANNEL

Please never stop yapping about history, you're my new favorite person on youtube <3

As an archaeology graduate, this is one of my favourite topics but it always felt very confusing with all the different players muddled about the place. Thanks for clearing things up :)

Can you imagine if every child had a teacher as passionate, knowledgeable, engaging, funny, and pleasant as FigTree ... The world would be transformed in a generation.
Please keep doing what you are doing so very well !! 🙂

I used to be a TA for an undergraduate biological anthropology course. This video basically covered the whole of one of our units, maybe a month and a half of lectures and labs, in less than 45 minutes. Exemplary work! Please keep doing what you’re doing.

Functional microphone (somewhat more tolerant of gestures) clipped to (now relegated) prop microphone. Genius. And also illuminating talk. Thank you.

Pleaseeee never stop making these!!!❤❤❤I’m not exaggerating you’re literally an indispensable source of knowledge and joy

The timing on this is absolutely crazy, I’ve been slowly going through your videos just learning about history.  I recently walked away from a cult I realized I was raised in, and here I am 26 years later learning about real history for the first time ever and I cannot get enough!!!   So this video is like my Mona Lisa rn also I love you and you’re so beautiful 💞💖💞

Very comforting knowing people like you are meandering through the story of earth and humanity and reporting back in a way that’s palpable for all of us. Your channel has acted as a fantastic palate cleanser this year when I need a break from the current events of our story. Thanks Fig. 🖤🖤🖤

I got my undergrad degree in biological anthropology, and it's been so nice to be getting refreshers with all the information that's come out since! You're absolutely lovely and a wonderful storyteller. ❤

there is nothing that i love more than educated vocal people! keep up this great effort. i know it doesnt mean much but i truly apreciate it
