Call me Anti-Woke the way this movie had me falling asleep 🗣️🔥🔥🔥

Funny how the "stop ruining art with politics" crowd can't make art because they can only focus on politics

@AxelLloyd 1 year ago

It’s almost like if you focus on being anti-woke first and characters second, you don’t actually make a movie you just make a big conservative ad.

There is nothing wrong with creating dumb pulpy spy stories, the problem is the drinker's "holier than thou" attitude of "you libtards don't know jack shit about storytelling! It is I, the only one who knows!" that makes his inevitable crash against the wall so funny. It's like those vanity project movies, like The Room, or every Neil Breen movie (at least the drinker hired an actual team of professionals to make his spy movie/short/whatever somewhat watchable).

Someone screwed up here

all conservative critics run into this problem: they think creating art is as easy as disingenuously tearing it down, so they launch a movie/music project that starts with a bang but always ends with a self-pitying whimper as it gets torn to shreds.

Are you trying to tell me that a self appointed film critic whose knowledge of film appears to barely extend beyond mainstream action films, whose understanding of writing seems to be based on a single reading of McKee’s ‘Story’, who didn’t gain traction on YouTube until he started relying on a tired “drunken scotsman” cliche and whose YouTube videos are lazily edited minimal effort montages has not managed to create the cinematic masterpiece that will show Hollywood how it’s done but instead has come up with a poorly written, mediocre, cliche riddled telemovie proof of concept?

What a shock.

I had no idea drinker was a grocery store book author. His channel makes a lot more sense now

It’s almost as if grifting isn’t an actual career outside of complaining.

Me when i'm in a "creating derivative art" competition and my opponent is a conservative "critic"

@vivalarevolution-o7d 1 year ago

It’s honestly funny how, instead of taking responsibility as the writer, he chose to throw the actress under the bus for the terrible dialogue that he wrote. I guess since he couldn’t blame Rachel Zegler or Brie Larson this time, he decided to target the Rogue Elements actress, anyone but himself 😂

I’d be genuinely baffled if there are still people out there willing to spend their money funding another Drinker movie.

His book series has a "Mary Sue" character he spent years complaining about on YT

@sldh8mm3r93 1 year ago

Conservatives be like “The left are destroying cinema!” And then make an action film so shitty it makes Steven Seagal look like Spielsburg.

Funny how his life’s work gets turned into a movie and it turns out to be the thing that gets him the least views (congrats on getting more views than the actual movie)

@laserpanda94 1 year ago

Denigrating all of western cinema after only watching Hollywood blockbusters is like saying every restaurant in America is bad after only eating in McDonalds and Burger King.

@emmckat 1 year ago

always hilarious when conservatives who make a living insulting other peoples’ art start making art themselves, and it is absolutely terrible.

@fulcrum6760 1 year ago (edited)

The funniest part is that Drinker realize his movie is awful and deliberately buried it. There’s a reason why the BTS footage is on a secondary channel. He saw backlash.

I'm ashamed to say I watched drinker's videos dunking on the MCU on the regular and didn't really clock his rancid vibes until the Barbie movie came out. I listened to him basically say "they hate men they hate men!" over and over, thinking surely this is satire and he'll get to the actual media analysis soon. And then the video ended. Took a good hard look at who and where I watch media analysis videos from afterwards. Thank you for the wake up call, Barbie Movie.
