This week on The Quiet Path, we're back with a bit of everything — DIY, some new finds, a few little dramas, and a lot of love along the way.
We start in the entryway, now freshly painted, where we finally install the coat rack and get this space fully finished. Meanwhile, out in the garden, the sparrows are enjoying their dust baths, and our dog Chichi finally gets to explore her brand new section of the garden — an area that used to be completely closed off, right where we cleared out what used to be a total jungle a while back.
Madame also gives an old piece of furniture a fresh coat of paint — though at this point, we've genuinely lost track of where it ended up in the house.
Next, it's time to tackle the old railing by the garden gate. We rebuild it completely from scratch, using entirely reclaimed materials, so we can access the garden directly without having to open the two little gates that usually keep Chichi from escaping mid-zoomies or barking at every neighbor walking by. The next day, we finish it off with a coat of oil.
Of course, no gardening session is complete without Chichi finding something questionable buried in the ground — bones, again, straight to the bone bin.
We wrap up the episode by finally testing out our secondhand bikes. Bent wheels, a leaky tire — not perfect, but for the price, we're really not complaining. And the ride still turned into a beautiful little summer outing.
If you love slow living, real DIY, and secondhand-friendly renovation in the Swedish countryside, you're in the right place. New episodes of our journey every week 🏡
