Look at how many of his passes hit guys right in the hands.  No matter where he passed from.

Larry is a legend in ANY era

☘️ Larry Legend
THE most complete all-around basketball player.   Period.

His passes were insane. Like a quarterback. Unbelievable.

They allowed much more physical play in the 80's which maybe made it more difficult actually. I watched all this in the past and it was big time physical.

Without a doubt Larrys the most skilled all around player I've ever seen...   Another point to bring up.  Larrys assists numbers were wrong because of the assists they just didn't count.  Imagine what his numbers would jump to if they also counted assists like they did today...

Thanks so much for watching this one!

Larry Legend 🍀 ☘️ The 🐐

There’s a famous quote out there that goes as follows, magic made easy passes look hard. Bird made hard passes look easy.

I saw Bird play. He might be the most complete hooper I've ever seen.

keep in mind Larry had 4 yrs of 50-40 -90

Play your basic game and elevate when needed. That’s what Bird did. Killer instinct

The greatest all around player I have ever seen.

Bird was the 50/40/90 father.. the first to do it

I think a Prime Larry Legend would be just as effective in today's game.

I never saw him until about 3 yrs ago on YT but now Bird my favorite player because he is so fun to watch.  Exciting because you never knew what he was going to do.  Except in the last few seconds you knew exactly what he would do.

Larry Bird was magnificent !!! No holes in his game. As close to perfect as you can get. Played hard and rough. Played
with injuries and in pain. His passing was magical. His trash talking was top notch. His will to win unmatched.
He called out his sh0ts like he was sh00ting a game of pool. He was spectacular !!! Larry Legend the GOAT !!!!!

Larry did it in a league that was pretty much just professional street ball rules

They don't play defense now.  They play college ball.  Back then they played physical man to man.  Today it's hands off zone.  Completely different.

To me the biggest difference between any generation of basketball compared to today’s is simply heart. All the way up to bird era and may be a little bit into Michael Jordan‘s, players played for the love of the game, the competition, and to win a championship. They had team loyalty. Many a player lived and died on a team, were Hall of Famer, and never won a championship. Sad but true. Today’s game is about the money, the fame, the contracts, and not about competition and the love of the game. If they don’t see success immediately, they jump ship. They form super teams.
Bird came to a 29 win Celtic team as a rookie. He was the only addition at that point. He turned that team into a 62 game winner single-handedly. They went to the semi conference finals and we’re out gunned by the better established 76ers and Dr. J. The next year, as a second year player, and a few more additions, he won a championship. The semi conference finals again against the 76ers is rated as one of the best semi conference finals ever.
I simply ask people this. Name me another player that in and of himself impacted his team, the game and the league greater than Larry Bird. The only one that people might mention is Michael Jordan. But Jordan gives credit where credit is due. What Michael ushered in both good and bad is the complete worldwide sensation of basketball and also the mega contracts, the mega shoe deals, the mega sports apparel deals, so on and so forth. But those foundations were clearly set by Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.
I also will die on this hill. You take away, Larry birds, back injury, and the death of their top draft pick led by us after the 1986 championship, and there would be no question or debate who the goat is. If bird, healthwise, was able to play 20 seasons or even 15 healthy ones, again there would be no debate or discussion. He played at an All-Star, Hall of Fame level, with a complex, compounded, series of injuries that any one of them in and of themselves would’ve sidelines or ended the career of most other players. There is no one that can touch bird for toughness in what he played through. If bird had current medical treatments and procedures during his day, they would’ve renamed the league, the national bird association. :-)
Yet what he did in basically 12 seasons, to me, makes him the GOAT

Larry Bird had no weaknesses in his game.  Bird and Jordan 1a and 1b most talented players of all time.

Way more physical hard defense in 80s, holding, hand checking hard contact all allowed.
