You make some valid points here in this video. Though I have found ways around this to make this more playable.
For example, this is why I drop my items in a barrel of an NPC who I've befriended and let a follower pick up all the items from said barrel.
I go for the Merchant perk as soon as I allow my character to level up.
I go for the Goldenhills Plantation when I have 12 Creep Cluster, 20 Mora Tapinella, and 12 Scaly Pholiota in my inventory (which I can easy hatch in Myrwatch) to ensure a steady amount of income. That way I don't even have to pick up every item in any dungeon.
Once my crafting skills are maxed out I make a set piece particularily made for merchantise: fortify barter and carry weight in particular. That's how I've learned to enjoy Skyrim's economy.
As for the waiting: I play with Survival Mode on, so if my character isn't eating or sleeping, he's riding horseback or via carriage to another city to sell the rest of his loot. Even going between Whiterun, Solitude and Windhelm alone has enough time in between that when you've done selling in the third city, by the time you'll get back to the first all vendors in the first city have their inventory restocked already. This is hugely because of when my character enters a city he is hungry and tired, so I have to take care of that first.

Yeah, in Morrowind encumbrance system was better. You could do a whole build about 0 carry weight used, make an agile character who jumps around high and quickly, and  uses hit and run tactics, simply because character encumbrance affects player speed. In real life wearing a full set of armour would reduce your speed only slightly, but the game scale was different and you can imagine that that's just character just tires more and takes rest more often. A character with a full bag would not be able to escape from a bandit who has barely anything in his bag.

4:45 That's because, for whatever reason, for every hour past 1 hour of wait time the game 'waits' till you're done waiting then moves the characters to where they belong at that time, even though they should have been long gone. If you wait a long period of time, then wait 1 hour, they'll all teleport away to where they belong.

only 66 subs? keep up the good work man! great vid

I like the items and looting. Lots of people do. I think the economy is stupid mainly for how things are valued. If you are getting over encumbered, you are probably carrying too much to begin.

You should be emptying things out before you enter a dungeon... That's why they give you a house, for example. Between the character and a companion, you should never get over encumbered. A better solution for selling would simply be the wandering caravans in fallout, having all characters able to trade, and having characters with larger wallets being at keeps and docs...

If we're talking about the game's economy, we should've touched the hilariously useless merchants, the useless gold, and the huge coin income. You get a LOT of gold that you'll never spend except in some very specific circumstances because merchants sell bad stuff that you could easily find or craft yourself.

Skyrim has a lot of odd design decisions, especially since most of these problems didn't exist in Oblivion. I noticed when I went to back Morrowind that I would actually buy gear from vendors, due to the lack of level scaling. In Oblivion and Skyrim all my gear is looted, since the gear enemies possess levels up with you for the most part. Gold ultimately has no use in Skyrim, unless you just want a house for role-playing purposes.

Great video! although it could use a bit more polish on the sound side of; for example: cut out moments when you stop recording and maybe put a noise gate plugin.

Instead of infinite inventory what Skyrim really needs is a dungeon cleanout service.

This system could be tiered. On the lowest level you rent a donkey that you load up yourself. On the highest level you can hire a team that picks through every cask and corpse. You could have options for them to sell everything and give you a cut or to only sell specific categories of item while saving, for example, ingredients for you.

Love it!, I enjoy looking into the worlds of fantasy games, seeing how would this system work in say D&D or how would your fix work in D&D. Just enjoying other's points and views.

This is painful at times. So you should have infinite carry weight but only carry valuable items but also pick up so much that you’re over your carry limit to go sell them to a vendor with unlimited money after spending no time putting any effort of method into the game at all. Have you ever played a game? The grinding and having limits on things makes you plan and learn throughout any play through as well as giving a game levelling at a good speed not to just make you overpowerd and rich 5 minutes into the game pretty much ruining the rest of the game. But yeah fuck it

your right, they should probably switch to a better economical system

Dude I love your video, and it's a good point. My guy right now has a carrying capacity of 414 pounds, that is not realistic. If he was an NFL player it still wouldn't be realistic.

Don't carry so much stuff and sell off what you don't need before entering dungeons.

Problem solved.

It's not the games fault if someone doesn't have enough self control to not pick up useless clutter.

Are you from Norway?

Who bothers with selling junk items anyway? You level up alchemy, make potions get rich.

this is good content

Just.... don't pick up things you don't want to use or that are worthless.  The game is asking you to prioritize, to make choices about what is worth it or not.
