I'm 78 man and a life-long fan! I was horribly abused as a child by a violent mother. I remember listening him on the radio in the dark at bedtime, with the volume turned low not to draw attention. The humor of the show was wonderfully comforting and made life bearable. I'm tearing up. All my life I've been a loyal and true fane of his. He was a quality man and humanitarian. ❤🎉
Fell in love with Jack Benny in my early twenties, did quite a lot of driving in the job I had, bought a classic radio show cassette, been a fan ever since. Its now 2026, Im 56yo and still enjoying Jack.
This is the best present! There can never be enough Jack Benny. I am a senior citizen and a lifelong fan. The great humor, story, ensemble are stupendous. And George Burns too. Thank you for posting.
Jack Benny made fun of himself at his own expense in such an endearing way . In real life so many people spoke how he was so generous and kind ,It makes you love him even more. Rochester got away with the most in teasing Benny.
This was so marvelous!...What a gift Jack Benny was to the world!...(George Burns et al as well!)...Just the medicine I needed!...Wholesome, well constructed, wonderful performers, well acted...Such a comfort...I wish we were living in those days now!...Thank-you so much!(Subscribed for more!)👍☺️❤️
I got one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel and I'm still to young to remember this! Although, We Were the last on our street to get a TV.
For anyone who would like to see a very unusual show, Google, Jack Benny program with Billy Graham. It was during the height of the civil rights era, a trying time for the United States. Jack, a Jew invited Billy Graham, a Southern Baptist preacher, to appear on the show with him. Think about that for a moment. Jack could've invited a Catholic cardinal, a Jewish Rabbi, even two or three together. Yet, he chose a Baptist, the butt of all Christian jokes. Watch closely as they exited the stage. Jack genuinely liked Billy. Yes, in keeping with his high moral standards, Jack had to agree that in no way would Billy be made to appear foolish, no making fun of any religion and there would not be any sexual in innuendos. Of course, Jack's style of humor was to always allow the guests to get the laugh, and always at Jack's expense. Unlike others, like Jackie Gleason, who always wanted to get the laughs.
