"Nature is the Law" is a great track.

Fascinating . The Soloman Burke cd is a gem. A surprise to hear Chris Spedding mentioned he is a friend of a friend and plays in my friends daughter's band. Its a small world. Cheers Ray

Okay, first the T-shirt. Steve, are you a car buff as well? Not too many people know about the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante or "Flying Saucer" from the 1950s. I am assuming that is what your shirt is referring to, although I'm not sure about the "M.Y."  I am an automobile enthusiast as well as a fan of the Beach Boys, music and past popular culture. In one of my other careers I worked for a Houston billionaire who owned more than 1000 classic and vintage cars. I was a researcher and archivist. As the executive director used to say, "Sorry, I didn't see you when you passed by the 28 Duesenbergs." Anyway, NICE SHIRT!  In regard to Brian Wilson's activities, I think some us forget how active he was, particularly after his marriage to Melinda. There's that stereotype of Brian up in his room, asleep in his bed or listening constantly to "BE MY BABY." Thanks for pointing out how many other musical artists Brian collaborated with over his career. Take for example The NO PIER PRESSURE album. I remember seeing Solomon Burke (very overweight and sitting in a chair) perform on The DAVID LETTERMAN SHOW . I am assuming the drummer was, of course, Anton Fig along with Paul Shaffer and the rest of the band. Thanks for all the detailed insight into Brian's guest appearances. Remarkable!

Some valuable information here and a lot of researching from your good self to pass all this stuff on to us. It's amazing how much backing vocals Brian provided on these artists albums. I have listened to a lot of Richard Ashcroft's albums they are all very good and were all well received in the UK.

Steve…… Last week you had “COOL STUFF”….  Well this is pretty cool stuff as well.   Funny how regular life gets in the way of noticing really cool things that have happened to Brian and the Beach Boys during the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.     I’ve known about the Wondermints for years, but have never listened to them until today.   Not at all surprised why Brian chose them to work with.
I can really hear Feel Flows in the Wondermints song Ride.  I can almost hear Carl singing Darian’s lead.  What a great song.  Also, I can sure hear Our Sweet Love in So Nice, as well as a lot of Your Imagination towards the end of both tracks.   I have more homework to do this week getting up to date on all of Brian’s appearances in this episode.  Great work and thank you!
Have a great week……….Lamont

The tongue in cheek request by Fat Possum of consumers to trace one's house key reminds me of the directive from the puppet (not animated) version of Bullwinkle the Moose's 's tongue in cheek request of young viewers to remove the channel knob from their TVs so they would not miss the next episode of The Bullwinkle Show. Apparently, many children did not get the concept of tongue in cheek and fulfilled Bullwinkle's request.

Another great bunch of information. I do remember The World's Most Dangerous Band. Other than Brian's version and the Beach Boys version of Soul Searchin, all this is new to me. I did just watch someone reviewing Getting In Over My Head and he pretty much said that there are better versions of most of the songs from the album out there. I'll have to check into that Wondermints album. Great stuff as usual Steve thanks.

Richard Ashcroft was sat near me at one of Brian's Pet Sounds concerts in London 2002

The strange thing about Solomon Burke's Got To Get You Off My Mind is that the mono single is very different from the stereo LP version, maybe a different take altogether, and the single is nearly 30 seconds longer; kind of like the single of Marty Robbins' El Paso is longer than the LP version.

Fascinating episode, Steve, and LOTS of stopping to listening to multiple tracks as this episode progressed. In the Anton Fig section, I see that South African bassist Bakithi Kumalo played on "Hand On My Shoulder" with Blondie & Brian - Bakithi is best known for being the bassist on Paul Simon's Graceland album (remember all the cool fretless and sometimes slap bass playing on "You Can Call Me Al?") Jeez - hearing "Hand On My Shoulder" also makes me wonder what might have been if Blondie remained in the group beyond those few magical years. Man, Brian's vocal work on this is freakin' lovely. OK - WHERE DID THAT FLIGHT CASE PHOTO OF "THE BEACH BOYS IN CONCERT" IN THE "SOUL SEARCHIN'" SECTION COME FROM?!? WHAT'S THE SOURCE? WHAT DOES "DISC 5" MEAN? Man, you remind me that I need to go back and have a listen to my Wondermints CD - so good! Have a GREAT week, and I'm looking forward to your next installation!😃

OK …. As I said when commenting on episode 323 , I was clueless regarding the wealth of “ recent “ recordings featuring Brian .
Who knew ? I fear that I’ve been dreadfully unhip with respect to 21st century recordings .
“ The more I thought of it ,
I had been out of it “
                               Brian , ( or Murray ) Wilson
BTW did you see my note regarding the YouTube channel Mic the snare ? I sent the info last week following your reply to my comment . The long video , Deep DISCOG : The Beach Boys is truly worth your time .

Very interesting episode Steve.  I’ve listened to Hand on my Shoulder before but apparently not to closely since I never realized Blondie was singing the lead! I have a lot of listening to do.  On Ride The Wondermints definitely have a Feel Flows vide.  I hear a lot of Steamboat on it too. I really have to listen to them more too.
