The more I learn about Gary. The more I appreciate his body of work.

"In the Mood for Love" is exactly as Oldman is said to describe it. It is the most uncomfortable, wrenching, love stories ever. It leaves you standing looking over the edge knowing you can't jump. You can't take the leap you are dying to take. It is a masterpiece.

A truly fine actor and national treasure. My favourite, along with the late John Hurt.

Gary has to be my favourite actor. I always come back to him.  He can do anything, play anyone. A true legend.

The Conversation (1974)
Apocalypse Now (1979)
Godfather II (1974)
Dr Strangelove (1964)
Badlands (1973)
Husbands (1970)
In the Mood for Love (2000)
Ratcatcher (1999)

The astonishing Gary Oldman: my favourite actor by far!

At age 68, Gary Oldman is still relatively young when you consider guys like Tommy Lee Jones, Morgan Freeman and notable others.

But Oldman is by far one of the very best at what he does  - such a likeable person off-screen as well.

I can recall Natalie Portman saying about how wonderful it was to work with Gary on Leon: The Professional and of course Jean Reno.

Gary Oldman plays a villain so well  - like dodgy DEA chief, Norman Stansfield.

But he's just as good on the right side of the law - as we saw in the Dark Knight trilogy and Criminal.

He is such amazing actor and so handsome too 💙💙💙💙
Gary has great taste in movies 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

The last 3 surprised me and Gary is a treasure.

Gary Oldman's Churchill performance was best acting I ever seen! Because, I didn't even know it was Gary Oldman until I read reviews after watching the film! If you don't even know the actor, he's or she's doing a great job!

glad it mentioned gary's own film NIL BY MOUTH, it iis another masterpiece

The list I saw was the one Gary Oldman provided to Sight and Sound. It’s available online. 1. Les Enfants du paradis（Marcel Carné，1945）
2. The Conversation（Francis Ford Coppola，1974）
3. 8½（Federico Fellini，1963）
4. The 400 Blows（François Truffaut，1959）
5. Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb（Stanley Kubrick，1964）
6. In the Mood for Love（Wong Kar Wai，2000）
7. Le Salaire de la peur（Henri-Georges Clouzot，1953）
8. Husbands（John Cassavetes，1970）
9. Roma città aperta（Roberto Rossellini，1945）
10. Le Vent nous emportera（Abbas Kiarostami，1999）

Gary Oldman,genius!

how many actors can convincingly play Winston Churchill and Sid Vicious

The conversation is PERFECT. Not the best... but PERFECT.

Gary is a philosophers, the best critic, very great actor, he has wisdom like no other. Change my point of view on films.

Gary Oldman is one of the all time greats. Hes up there with Christian Bale, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Viggo Mortensen, Joaquin Phoenix, Javier Bardem, BeniciomDel Toro etc…….alot,of range, underrated, real actors not movie stars

He’s my favorite actor…still love you Johnny ❤

Great English actor and a close personal friend of David Bowie.. can’t believe he’s over 10 years gone ⚡️

Who hasnt watch Apocalypse now more than 5 times? ....GO in True Romance still resonates with me.
