"I FEEL IT IN MY SOUL"🎵 Metallica One Reaction | First Time Hearing Metallica

This is our first time listening to Metallica. One is an interesting song that brings light to the horrors of war. It's a topic that a lot of us have similar opinions about, but feel powerless to actually affect change.

The song is about the book/movie "Johnny Got His Gun" where a young soldier, seriously wounded in war, was unable to communicate that his mind was still intact despite a broken body without sight, speech, or hearing and no arms or legs. His life became a living hell and the story meant to challenge the ideals of patriotism and the true costs of wars and their worth.

We don't freak out or complain when Lex gets down with the song, us metal heads love that shit. It brings us joy.

She's a born metal head if it's in your soul it's in your soul your born that way welcome to the club

Metallica got exactly the reaction they wanted from you: they got you talking about deep issues of democracy and war, while just trying to figure out the song.

Who the hell is telling Lex to chill!? I got problems with that person.. I guarantee for every one person that says that, there’s at least a hundred that disagree completely

One was released 1989.
The black and white scenes are from the movie 'Johnny got his gun', based on the novel by Dalton Trumbo, written in 1939.

Whoever complained about Lex getting down to the music is backwards. Telling somebody to not headbang to the music is practically the antithesis of being a metalhead.

She's one of us now

I don't know who complained about Lex going crazy and enjoying metal, but they were wrong and stupid. Never hold back your enthusiasm for music. Rock the hell out Lex!

"Landmine has taken my sight,
Taken my speech
Taken my hearing
Taken my arms
Taken my legs
Taken my soul
Left me with life in hell"

The song is about a solider who got absolutely f**ked up and is basically a living plant but he doesn't know if it's a dream or not because he woke up and now can't see due to losing his vision.. ugh, This song is so terrifying.. but an absolute masterpiece.

I can't believe there are people who wanted Lex to chill. Music is meant to be felt, not just heard. It is an experience. Rock out Lex! ❤️🤘

To all the vet's, thank you for your service. True hero's! Never forget how much we appreciate your sacrifice. God bless you brothers and sisters.

The story of an infantryman who steps on a landmine and wakes to gradually discover he has lost everything – his arms and legs, his five senses – except his mind, which is now cast adrift, trapped in its own grim and impossible reality, One was both a nightmare writ large and a musically transcendent journey. The protagonist’s descent into living hell, wordlessly begging for death, capable of being seen both as existential metaphor for the human condition and the solipsism of the rock star life. Its frantic climax also served up a state of inarticulate teenage angst like no other rock song before or since.

Let me be clear here for a second. There is NO overdoing it when listening to music! Let the emotions flow! P.s. when you rock out it makes me smile

Lex don't you ever let people tell you what to do when you are reacting. EVERYONE MOVES to rock music, you headbang, jump up and down, scream and get into it, do whatever you are feeling because that is what music is for.

The soldier wounded after ww1, listen to him referring to a war time novelty, landmines has taken him all and all he wants is death reminds me of the scene in Born on the fourth of July when he was laid up in the hospital

@benfox2883 5 years ago

This song is based on an old movie called "Johnny Got His Gun", which the scenes in the video are directly taken from. It centers around a soldier in World War I (I think...) who stepped on a mine and lost his arms, legs, sight, hearing...who can't cry out audibly for help and knows nothing but pain, darkness and silence and wishes only for death.

#Lex please hear this it is important.
DO NOT CHILL.
I repeat, do not chill.
We see you metal warrior, don't listen to the naysayers! >; ]

I’m a retired soldier. And I’m a huge metal fan. And I really love Metallica. ONE is probably the greatest Metal song ever. It is an absolute anti-war song. You should see it in concert.
