We travelled from Dubai to Abu Dhabi on Etihad Rail on 30 September 2026, the very first day of passenger operations from Dubai. In this vlog, we share the complete first hand experience of travelling on this brand new route, from reaching Dubai Station to arriving in Abu Dhabi.

Our journey started at Etihad Rail Dubai Station in Al Yalayis, near Jumeirah Golf Estates. From there, we boarded the passenger train to Mohamed Bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi. The new Dubai to Abu Dhabi service officially launched on 30 September 2026, connecting the two cities by passenger rail for the first time.

Etihad Rail’s Dubai Station is located at Al Yalayis, next to Jumeirah Golf Estates, and is connected directly to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station through an elevated pedestrian walkway. This makes it possible to connect from Dubai Metro directly to the Etihad Rail station without needing a car.

The Dubai to Abu Dhabi route connects Al Yalayis Station in Dubai with Mohamed Bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi.
