My favorite fun fact Dana has revealed about the pilot is that "This point is too violent" about a part of Gwen's hair style is an actual note that Dana has gotten from Disney S&P about one of her character designs. And I can only assume that the rest of the notes on that paper are ones that John Bailey Owen and Zach Marcus have gotten as well, since they've both also worked for Disney, even with Dana Terrace on The Owl House.

I like to think that when Olivia "fixes" Guinevere, she's only further ruining and traumatizing the android princess, Frankie on the other hand fixes Guinevere in a way that did not hurt the princess who looks eternally grateful.

Oh my god, I didn’t even think about how the main Gwen’s traumatic memories might be part of the hive mind all the androids share and all the other Gwens would be able to see them too

Gwen's story made me realize how much of a victim Mickey Mouse is of the cooperation that we call Disney.

Mickey was created to give joy, not make money, yet now many people see Mickey as apart of this greedy buisness like how people in KoG see Gwen

I'd like to point out that when Olivia is being introduced to the park, the buildings and attractions sparkle beautifully, but the sky is so dark, as if the artificial lighting of the place is drowning out the starlight.

Another thing I'd like to say is that I cried a LOT when Guinevere met the protagonists as a child, because I discovered my favorite fairy tale (Charles Perrault's Cinderella) through the film, and to this day, I'm hyperfocused on fairy tales. So, I was worried that the series would make fun of the princesses and people who grew up with Disney. It was a breath of fresh air to discover that I was wrong (great video, by the way, hugs from Brazil).

I am in love with Knights of Guinevere because I was once riding that “Argh damn/fuck Disney” hate train when I was a teenager/part of my young adulthood and it took me a while to realize that I don’t hate the art, or the creatives working on it so much as I hated the unfair treatment of that art.

KOG even kickstarted my job hunt again by fueling me with a twisted kind of hope.

DUUUDEEE THE PARALLELS BETWEEN FRANKIE AND GWEN THATS SO SMART I DIDNT EVEN THINK OF THAT

Ridiculous theory: Gwen flipped Olivia off and that’s how her finger got broken. 😆

When the Arm of the Robot, sent down to retrieve Guinevere, was hit by liquid nitrogen, it roared out in pain. But why would they program this thing to be capable of feeling pain? The cruelty is on another level.

I would like to think that the OG Guindroid can pull on the information that other droids share, but cannot share her own information with the other droids. This is why we don’t see the kids through her eyes, we see the three of them from other cameras. We know that Guin0 has unique abilities, hence her being able to scream. I think she also has limitations, like not being able to share her own info.
But we’ll see. I’m so excited about this.
I remember in my early 20’s drawing a robot Mickey that was puppeted by a zombie Walt Disney head, so I love this.

I've highlighted this before, but Andi seems to play a strong part in this story as well. Both her and Frankie seemed  to have shared the same dream of capturing the magic they felt at that park when they were children. However Andi experienced the harsh reality of working in the park. Both being ridiculed by her former peers, a throwaway lacky in the labs she worked in. Throughout the pilot, Frankie clearly looks up to Andi and wants to work alongside her, making that park magic. Each time Frankie tells her goals to Andi, she makes subtle expressions of guilt. Most likely because Andi knows this ugly truth but refuses to tell Frankie. Either because Frankie's optimism is the only thing keeping Andi from fully crashing out, or she doesn't want to be the one to crush Frankie's drive to continue her dead-end job. There's also the fact that every time Frankie is in her whimsical mind, it's Andi that snaps her out of it. It is most likely symbolic to grounding her so she doesn't fully lose herself.

The first indie show made out of spite
Go get em dana

I never thought about the claw machine but I like the comparison of Frankie trying to pull qwen out of "The machine" as in the established laws and confines of the world to be her own person, but also how in doing so she engages in a situation created by the park still

I wonder if Mickey Mouse's big black ears are a parallel to Gwen's big blue spaces buns signifying that Dana Terrace is showing Disney's "true colors"

I'm in love with your analysis of the pilot episode. Love the way you drew parallels between Guinevere & Frankie (and how being a knight and a princess are two sides of the same coin).

Your attention to the tiny details made me realize how there were so many things that flew over my head (and I've watched the pilot ep twice).

Looking forward to more videos! 💕

Am I a brainless consumer because I watched a show about themes of the horrors of capitalism, yet I want a plush of the main character?

One thing I haven't heard people talk about as much is how its likely that Gwen saw her interactions with Frankie and Andie the same way Frankie sees them. Especially the second instance with the fight against Sir Arthur. To me it's just an additional detail to show the connection between the two and further emphasize the parallels between them.

Great video and breakdown of the pilot.

A little detail I saw that I adored in the pilot was that one of the 'corrections' on Guinevere's design was 'NO WRINKLES' and when Guin smiles at little Frankie before thanking her she has a single wrinkle under her eye in the same spot as on the design

This is Disney's Absolute Worst Nightmare

I think there's far more to Frankie's so-called hallucinations than just maladaptive daydreaming.
