LONDON STADIUM LAND PLANS REVEALED! | WILL KRETINSKY MAKE HIS MOVE? | WHAT’S AT STAKE FOR WEST HAM?

SO, it has been revealed that Populous are doing a study on the land surrounding the London Stadium - to recommend development opportunities

Is Daniel Kretinsky ready to take the initiative and find a way to involve West Ham in this development?

Is this why he was so keen to take more control of West Ham?

I'm reserving my judgement on DK after seeing the mess that the Royal mail is in. Staveley and her crew would've been the best option.

Cheers as always, Stel. I’m buzzing for tomorrow. COYI. ❤⚒️

My friend works for the guy that owns the land around the ground. We recently chatted about it; he made it clear his boss was not going to give things away cheaply to expand use of that land. His exact words to me were “buying the stadium is the least of your worries”. Make of that what you will.

Hopefully the threat of outside developers having their eye on the stadium area will force the hand of our owners to move faster with the stadium and surrounding area redevelopment.

I don’t see why DK would buy more shares in the club if there wasn’t big project/land potential. Also why would Stavely want the club if the land around it wasn’t possibly available. There is a much bigger picture here that we can only guess at.

@TBeau9 23 hours ago

There's still an opportunity for Amanda Staveley and co. to obtain 51%

Could dk want the land to maybe put things in place that can benefit the club and possibly bring more money in, also some of the food places from my understanding need to go the food looks grim

My own view is that we might be better off negotiating compensation for the lease and relocating to Barking Riverside, where a 50,000 stadium could be built for a fraction of the price. There are all sorts of tax incentives to build there and the infrustructure is already in place.

Unless dk wants planning permission there before he buys it as they have said for any deal to happen land will have to be thrown in as the stadium operates at a loss, maybe charge the athletics more to use the ground as my understanding is they pay virtually f all to use it which isn’t fair to the tax payers either but only we get the stick about the stadium

We all know when they develop the land around the stadium will be herded in and out down certain alleyways treated like the scum that they think we are
they already close certain roads off to stop us going down them. It’s just gonna get worse once the developments up and running. I mean look at Westfield, they absolutely detest us going anywhere near it on match days

I’m not convinced in the slightest that Kretinsky wants to spend any more money buying the stadium or the land around it.
In fact he only increased his shareholding purely to stop Staveley coming into the club. I don’t believe for one second he would’ve put more money into the club if he wasn’t forced to.
We’ve heard NOTHING from him since he increased his stake. He has zero interest in us fans. Otherwise he would have engaged with us.

So if West Ham buy the land etc then that means Sullivan benefits as a shareholder- don’t forget he is still here!

So far D.K's involvement in our club has been pretty underwhelming. I expect that to continue, whether it's developing the ground or the area around it. I expect us to lurch from season to season until that becomes unsustainable?

@pauln8067 1 day ago

Thanks Stel. Do you know what % of all the land is taken up by the stadium?. For a real deal to happen I think whu leave and relocate.

@markwatson6579 1 day ago

The question I have Stel is why now ? Khan has had many years to do this development . No coincidence in my mind that it coincides with the Government’s insistence that the Stadium must no longer be a burden on the tax payer .

Stel. I'm getting myself confused. Does buying the stadium include the land around it or is it separate. Is our lease for the stadium only or the land around it also. Can someone just come in and buy the stadium and/or land without our consent as the lessee.
