In today's episode, we'll be looking back on the making of 1995's "BILLY MADISON" starring Adam Sandler.

Released in 1995, Billy Madison marked Adam Sandler’s first starring role after breaking out on Saturday Night Live, but the movie’s path to success was anything but smooth. This video dives into the behind-the-scenes story of how the film was nearly derailed by studio concerns, a fired director, and a script many thought was too strange to work. Alongside Sandler, the movie features a cast of comedic talent including Bradley Whitford as the smarmy villain Eric, Bridgette Wilson as the schoolteacher love interest Veronica Vaughn, Darren McGavin as Billy’s wealthy father, Josh Mostel as the bumbling principal Max Anderson, Norm Macdonald and Mark Beltzman as Billy’s party-loving friends, and Steve Buscemi in a memorable cameo. With a mix of absurd humor and surreal moments, Billy Madison was panned by critics at the time but went on to become a cult classic and launched Sandler’s long-running movie career. This retrospective explores how the film came together, what went wrong during production, and how it still managed to connect with audiences and become a comedy favorite for a generation.
