I say well done to the Skip Hire Company. They rightly took their equipment back and didn’t want to steal the homeowners belongings. Very neighbourly minded in my opinion.
I love to think someone was in the house looking out thinking "ha I've won, they're collecting the skip." Imagine the look on their face when they realised what was about to happen!😆😆
A good friend of mine had a rural garbage company which included household trash pick up and bins. One day a customers cheque bounced. He confronted the farmer who basicly said oops. I'll pay you cash the next time and hurry back the other bin is full now. He did (wanting his money)and proceeded to pickup the next bin. With that he walked over to the farmer who told him it's on your truck now too bad so sad and walked away. Jimmy knowing he would never see his money, opened the bin doors tilted his bed and dumped the whole load of used construction materials down the 1/2 mile long driveway. Everybody now AHhhh. Toilets, plumbing, boards with nails etc. etc. Jimmy did not get paid. But he got pay back.
As a former Rolloff Driver in the US I have done this very thing myself. I had a customer order a dumpster one time that once he got the dumpster, called the office bitching at the office lady so bad that she was in tears. I went to his house to attempt to collect payment, and he refused, all the while bitching at me the same way. I said OK Sir, I hooked to the dumpster as if I was going to take it. He laughed, until I opened the door and dumped the whole 20 yard box in his driveway behind his pick up so close he couldn't get out! I kindly told him to call another company because we wont be back. It cost he 3 times as much for the next service because they called us to ask about him for credit! We told them!
Bravo. A renter in a neighboring building left it full of electronics and office stuff. The building owner, a construction guy, used his dump trucks to take the stuff to the renters house with a Lake Champlain view, and dumped 3 trucks worth in his driveway. The guy called the State Police who asked if it was his stuff, the guy said "well, yes" so the cops told him it's a civil matter now. He got every last piece of dirt he left behind.
