Scarlet Witch holding an entire town hostage
MCU Writers:"She's a hero that has been through a lot."
Sane People:"She has to be held accountable for what she's done!"

They made Wanda into the token ⬜ woman, who can get away with anything, because "glass ceiling", "my struggles are worse", and whatever...

Even for someone like me who loves the Scarlet Witch character... I felt something was very off when watching Multiverse of Madness and her own show. She lost a lot, yes but the writers really tried to make her too sympathetic when it was so easy to just make her villainous outright. She can obviously still be likable, even when she's a villain but let's stop trying to hide the fact that she did some terrible shit.

I HATE them having Monica say "They'll never know what you sacrificed for them". Oh yeah knowingly enslaving a town, and they somehow owe Wanda a debt of gratitude 🙄
Dr Strange should have showed up in Westview and held Wanda accountable for what she did

Don’t forget that Thor suffers A LOT MORE than Wanda and the MCU treats his trauma as a joke through and through.

Granted, she lost her loved one, she lost her brother and she just wanted her son's, despite them being magical manifestations...but she could have left those people all alone. Her desperation for a perfect life took freedom and innocent lives away. All she had to do was go somewhere secluded to do her manifesting without harm to anyone. But taking a variant of herself in control and killing to keep that control made her the villain absolutely

How the MCU has handled Scarlett Witch is exactly why I don't think they are ready to introduce the xmen. While mutants are victimized heavily in the comics you can't deny that they are incredibly dangerous especially when they are using powers for selfish and destructive reasons. Seeing how writers have handled Wanda makes me worry what mutants will get away with and receive only sympathy instead of punishment.

The problem with Phase 4 is that alot of the "Heroes" go around decide good and bad, not by morality or objective logic, but by emotion, in WandaVision, Monica simps for Wanda and dislikes Hayward, thus Wanda is good and Hayward bad

Sam does similar in FATWS, he doesn't like that the Government named a new Captain America, thus he spends the entire show been a dick to John Walker, even when the guy is helping him out, but feels for Karli, thus goes out of his way to defend her and excuse actions, even when she does heinous deeds

Go across each of the shows and movies, and you see this trend repeat again and again throughout Phase 4

1. Wanda joined Hydra.
"She lost her parents at a young age."
Not every orphan joins a secret terrorist organization just because they lost their parents. Besides, that's not excuse for her behavior.

2. Wanda helped in Ultron's creation.
"That was Stark who created Ultron, it was his idea."
Except for the fact that Stark had scrapped the idea previously, because he didn't think it would work. Plus, the only reason he went back to the idea was because Wanda used her powers on him to see an apocalyptic future. Stark wanted to protect the world, Wanda wanted to destroy Stark, see the difference.

3. Wanda helped Ultron.
"Yeah, but she helped save the world."
Yeah, because she is PART of the world. She's an idiot not suicidal.

4. Wanda set the Hulk loose on Johannesburg causing tons of damage and hurting/killing who knows how many people in the process.

5. She never took responsibility for any of her actions.
"She lost her brother."
Again, that is NOT an excuse for bad behavior.

I'm sorry was she trying to guilt Strange for giving Thanos the time Stone? Literally the only option he had at the time that could save TRILLIONS of lives.

Honestly, the biggest issue I have with what she did is that it is shown early on that she is not only aware of what she's done... but that she can change the size of the Hex. Let that sink in for a second. She could have, at any point, shrunk the Hex down to, oh, I don't know, A HOUSE? She could have had her little fantasy life with her husband and kids without enslaving the entire town. But no. Not only does she not even consider the possibility, but she adamantly tries to justify what she's done as "What's best for everyone". Heck, it even make her "great sacrifice" at the end feel hollow because she doesn't even have to give up Vision and the kids, now that she's leveled up, she could just pick up the Hex and move to that little cottage at the end of the series with her family. And Monica's "they'll never know what you sacrificied for them" line? No, absolutely not. She could have freed them at any time without sacrificing anything but the charade of a family sit-com, but she'd rather live in a fantasy than admit she's tormenting innocent people for her own personal pleasure.

There. Rant over...

Imagine Being trapped in your own body; conscious but with all your agency taken from you, not even granted the temporary reprieve of sleep for months and months... Now multiply that by the entire population of Westview

( the writers at the time might not have known the extent of the evil they've made, much like what Wonder Woman did to “Handsome Guy”, only magnitudes worse)

That last line "they will never know what you sacrificed for them" ruined the entire show. It told the audience that she was justified in her actions when she obviously was not. I get her emotional break down. I understand her loosing her self. I dont understand why the show wanted us to think her actions were justified.

I don’t ever see many people mention this, but I find it morbidly funny how Monica defended Wanda’s actions of hurting people in Wandavision, but then in MOM, Wanda kills a superhero version of Monica’s mother from another universe. It’s poetic.

What's insane to me is how she's not able to even respect another mother's love for their child, despite desperately wanting to be one herself. Her actions are purely selfish.

This is sooo fucking true I've always said that she needed to be held accountable. And in WandaVision she's the villain a tragic villain but a villain nonetheless. She created dread and misery for the people of the town literally taking them hostage and she got off free.

Wanda is like the villainous child in the Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life". The kid has these unfathomable powers to to turn people into jack in the boxes, remove their mouths, etc. And he can tell when people are thinking bad things about him, so the entire town walks on egg-shells around him and tells him that everything he does is good.

After what happened with WandaVision, she should've definitely been both arrested and restrained with a power inhibitor because she's proven to not only be capable of warping reality and taking innocent people hostage, but also being completely unstable. She's a major threat on a global, if not universal scale. Keep in mind, Baron Zemo had a similar tragedy when debuting in Civil War, but he was still arrested and imprisoned for his crimes. The directors of this series want us to give Wana a pass solely because she was a hero beforehand, which is no excuse. She's a danger that no government or organization would've just let walk away, nor should they. They had already recognized how dangerous she was in Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame, and this is just the more than perfect time to detain her and heal her mentally before releasing her with an inhibitor.

Even when she "accidentally" killed civilians in Civil War, she was more concerned about "They are going to put me away." A lot of people also forget that she caused even more deaths in AOU by controlling Hulk. Bruce took accountability and went off the planet. She had a nice hair spa and pretended to be an Avenger for the rest of the movies. She had always been a psychopath.

Wanda: "dON't tElL mE abOuT SaCriFice" took an entire town hostage to fulfill her own twisted desires and cares more about the kids she didn't have than the husband she did
Dr. Strange: "Do you want to bargain?" repeatedly bet his own life and sanity for a slim chance of victory to save entire universes
I'm not saying Wanda isn't a tragic character so much as pointing out modern marvel's writing hypocrisy.
