lounge access is paid unless you're in business or have status or pp, and so are the sleep pods. as you well know, so calling this all free is very misleading.

If you have a transit for more than 8 hours Qatar airways will arrange a free hotel stay for you. Either at the airport or outside. Go to their website under transit accomodation submit your details. Wait for email confirmation. After flight arrival go to transfer desk collect your package. It should have meal vouchers too. Super easy and convenient. I had layover of 20 hours . Stay was awesome(For anyone who had asked me an update earlier. For some reason my comment got deleted and I was not able to comment from my another account)

This video is totally misleading, the lounge access is not free but to enter is quite expensive, then the shower etc. are free, so please give correct info

We are flying in from Australia next week (14 hour flight) and staying at DOHA only for 5 hours before heading to Milan.

Doha airport felt like getting off a plane and walking into a mall it was pretty cool

Al Mahal lounge is subpar. They don’t serve hearty meals and don’t offer much. The staff are watching you like hawks making sure you don’t spend a minute past your allotted time. It is also a very small lounge. I believe it is just one small square room it is more like a restaurant.

I returned from a summer exchange program with a connection in Doha. I had a layover of almost five hours, but it was extended to seven due to the delay of my connecting flight.
I had breakfast in the food court, which was quite empty at 4 am. I then explored the shops and the nature greenhouse for quite some time.
