Alright, let's get it on.

Holy shit when I saw the Mech in the thumbnail I thought "No way somebody finally made an Earth2150 review"
Merry Christmas to me thanks my guy

Thank you for mentioning our community patches there! It's very nice to see that my work is useful for other players. 😊

I look forward to watching your Earth 2160 showdown. ; )

This game was so ahead of its time.
It's the only game that's over 20 years old that I can play, because it hasn't aged badly, it's still impressive.
It's a shame it didn't have the success it deserved. Imagine playing this in 2000.

Day/Night cycle isn't just for show. At night you can order units to switch off lights, effectively going into stealth mode. They will move slower, but they will need to be closer to get detected. Very useful to nulify range advantage of heavy rockets or tall buildings like defense towers. Similarly, ambient temperature is a gameplay mechanic too, though it only affects effectiveness of lasers. Which is kinda more important on recieving end, because you can't "fix" accumulated heat, vehicles and buildings simply need time to cool off.

4:40 You are basically fighting in World War 5 on a dying planet, where most of (if not all) it's remaining population live underground. So yeah, there is lore-wise reason to not be many of the ruins. :)

13:46 LC's population is far lower than UCS or ED, that's why they need smaller ship and thus their campaign demand you to collect only half of the credits.

22:00 "Earth Techno" song, or "Escape from the Blue Planet" as it's named, along with video was made as game ad. I don't know if it was ever used except being added to game files.

Also this game was my first game i've ever handled to play all by myself (the really first was Midtown Madness 2, but i was just driving around in free ride mode, so it doesn't count) and to this day is my TOP1 favorite RTS games, as well as source of my love for that genre. It's unit creator made little me fall in love at first sight. Too bad very few games allows players to design their own units.

i was there Gandalf, 30 years ago..the best era of gaming from 90's to 05...so much inovation, exploration, hit and miss titles, jumps in graphics...it was magical era

Yes, there is definitely interest in a 2160 video. I also remember it to be barely recognisable as a sequel to 2150 and having a very strange story. Great summary video by the way!

Tbh, I cannot even call Earth 2150 a Eurojank as by time of its release it wasn't mechanically more or less buggy than its counterparts from other countries. And all of its ambition seems to be more or less fully realised.

Now Earth 2160 - that's a piece of work, I would love to see someone tearing this thing a new one!

2160 commits so many sins, but the cardinal one is the betrayal of the mystique and atmosphere of 2150.

16:43 I think I hear : "Action, at last !"

14:25 playing ED campaigns in one mission in the arctic (i think its a "arctic II") at the beginning of the game you can find 6 unique 120mm canon, quite durable tanks in the underground, so it makes the game much easier

What the world needs: Earth 2150 + Metal Fatigue.
Give us Combots!

You have no idea how great the lore is. Lunar Corporation being basically NASA's clients and borguise that said "fuck it" and started a colony on the moon, away from all the wars on Earth. UCS being literally the BEST country to live in, with automation and actual human care. And Eurasian Dynasty... imagine Russian generals coming outta bunkers and breeding with the mongolians and forming an actual post-war Khanate.

I randomly found Earth2150 in a bargain bin for 5 euros before I was 10 while out shopping with my grandparents mid 2000s. Normally they probably wouldn't have purchased something like it for me, as they weren't a huge fan of encouraging violence, but it was only 5 euros and I was absolutely enamored by the cover art.

Earth taught me English before being taught at school, I remember playing earth with my moms old high school English dictionary at hand to figure out what was what. I spoke English more fluent than even some teachers. and even though I don't play it very often anymore, it is probably still my favorite game I own. Especially with some of the mods bringing it closer to modern standards and bringing the original campaign into the improved expansion engine.

Ah early XXI games. Where the developers actually tried to bring something new to their games. Many features were not needed, like weather or day night cycle, but bring so much flavour to the game. Devs really loved making those games while it wasnt all around making money for shareholders

The bridge and tunnel mechanics would be fun to see in a RTS again.

Also a Earth 2140 review would be cool. Also, suscribed.

Thanks for reminding me to re-buy a game of my youth. I still have the cds here somewhere but neither a cd drive anymore nor do I believe I'D be able to get it to run without fan made patches. It's nice people still care for older games.
