Do fake people know they’re fake…or are they just insecure?

@Humenator_03 7 months ago

Healing is remembering who you were before the world told you who to be.

I read somewhere in my travels ," Never miss an opportunity to keep your mouth shut".

Many people will pretend to care about you as a human when all they want is transactional. I would rather them just be transactional and cut the small talk. If it is mutually beneficial, its still a win for us both

@hs964 7 months ago

Some of us genuinely compliment others. It's not fake.

“Insecurity” isn’t always about fake. .it’s being uncomfortable. .like speaking in front of a large group.

Talking about smiling, I don’t usually do big toothy grins or wide smiles because I have crooked teeth and I’m embarrassed so if someone isn’t smiling, it’s not always a bad thing

As I get older and experience more I tend to speak less and ask less, it leads to less conflicts. To me getting to the point (transactional) is not fake beating around the bush is.

I have learned that I am everything I knew I was. I no longer explain myself to anyone.

If you pay close enough attention, people give themselves away; they tell on themselves.

I was raised by a psychopath and I learned so much on how to read people. I pick up on little details people miss. I’ve learned to really not listen as much as watch. There’s tells. I can walk in a room and minutes know who’s predator to who needs a friend. Silence is golden and very powerful tool. People will fill it and tell you more.

The insecurities are much more obvious when you see these adults interact with family members.

They talk you in circles, and offer nothing but empty promises and hope.

Narcissists can be super charming and everything you ever dreamed

@cathrynelaine1724 7 months ago (edited)

They missed one—my childhood trauma—if someone over explains themselves all the time (or doesn’t talk at all due to exhaustion from over explaining) then it might be because they just want to be understood. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they want you to agree with them, but just that you are properly understanding them.

I am traumatized from being horribly misunderstood my whole life. I’m also autistic.

@idid138 7 months ago

Sometimes fake people ask a lot of personal questions because they can manipulate better.

@Escorpio40 7 months ago

Since childhood, I've always sensed when someone was being fake with me, and I didn't understand why. Today, at 60, I fully understand that it's a gift from God to be able to detect hypocrites at first glance.

@Yankijs24 7 months ago

I was a loner as a kid and it made me watch and analyze people from the sidelines. Detecting if someone is being fake was, thankfully, something that i caught on early

@Buttercupsk8 7 months ago

Dealing with a narcissist can also lead a person to being transactional. You get tired of their b.s.

Ive never had friends or fitted in as a child and now as an adult, I enjoy my peace alone drama free. Ive noticed that the more alone I am the more I expose fake people with just my presence
