It's fun to watch these games. Not just because Nebraska was good, but because nowadays the 90s Huskers and Tom Osborne get talked about like these untouchable gods. It's kind of refreshing to see the games and see that they didn't win every play or score on every drive. They just never let a bad play or turnover snowball into a string of mistakes.
WHat's amazing: Kansas had a great plan, executed it pretty well, played hard on defense and stuffed Nebraska for a half. Lost by 38. Don't let anyone tell you Nebraska didn't have a wide talent advantage on the Big 8 that year. Maybe the whole country.
The year before in 1994 hypothetically if Tommie Frazier doesn't miss the majority of that season with the blood clots, from an college football traditionalist standpoint they would have broken the All Time Team total rushing yards record, rushing yards per game set by the 1971 Oklahoma Sooners, rushing touchdowns by a team, average yards per carry by a team, and the most rushing attempts by one team.Despite the great jobs that the late Brook Berringer and Matt Turman did helping that team to get through that National Championship Season at the Quarterback position many people didn't realize that during the first three games of that season versus West Virginia,Texas Tech, and UCLA they were rushing at about 500 yards per game before Frazier was diagnosed with the blood clots by the team doctors. That record with the Husker Pipeline would have fallen at some point during that season LP could have gotten to 2000 yards rushing and maybe 30 rushing touchdowns and Frazier may have gotten to 1500 yards rushing and a combined 35 touchdowns rushing and passing.Think about a historical offensive season that could have been with due respect to the late Rashaan Salaam one or if not both of them could have won the Heisman Trophy.
I 😂 couldn't help myself from laughing at this one. There was two really good QBs being played in this game. However, only one had a large "S" logo underneath his shoulder pads
Ah! College Football in the 90’s and the era in which teams began using a short controlled passing game to grind at you. However Nebraska was still pounding it down your throat and did a pretty good job at it!
