Larry Bird wasn’t feared because of athleticism alone—his trash talk, killer confidence, clutch shooting, elite basketball IQ, and ability to embarrass defenders made him one of the most intimidating stars of his era.

I'm a stoic 65 year old... watching young people discover Larry makes me emotional. I miss those days 😢.

We all loved DJ, he was so clutch. Larry said he was the best player he ever played with

He already had a maxed deal and he still played hurt with a concussion, broken facial bones and a chronic pain in the back. He played for the game.

dj was an elite defender; 6x first team all defense and 3x second team all defense.

As someone from Indiana having Larry Legend coach the Pacers on their best team ever at the time was amazing.

Larry said he worried about Magic and gave this example. After shooting 700 practice shots he was ready to quit and then worried that Magic had made 800 practice shots. So Larry then made another 100. This level of training was the basis for his great plays.

great one, thanks for doing this...what Bill Russell said, he called Larry Legend after the they won the title in 1984, Bird famously leading them to victory with his play and grit and leadership- he called hm and told him how he played and his leadership made him proud to be a Celtic- I mean, that is the greatest compliment he probably ever got- Bill Russel is not just a basketball player, he is a cultural icon- LEGENDARY!

I love both of them. 2 of the best men we still talk about. If you love the game then we got to love these greats.
