I love how he said "its obviously much easier to jump in a tractor, and turn the key....but thats not really what I want in life". Yes, they are very, very lucky!!❤

my grandfather owned several percheron’s and they are what made me fall in love with horses as a child. I also recently was able to trail ride on a beautiful huge black percheron and it was a dream come true.😊

I like the generational reference. I work horses, my grandfather worked horses as a young man up until WW2, then left the farm for the war and never went back to it. So really two generation gap in a line that went back to Poland before they came to Canada in 1860's. Now I have no family of my own and I guess it really end for good with me as there are no other horsemen in my family on any side...and no real farmers.

Love this! The Samsons are family. My mum grew up on Harbrige Farm.

These are true working Percheron horses. Completely different in build than the flashy 4, 6, and 8 in hand you see in North American heavy horse shows. A bit smaller and more muscular. No fancy knee action (why would you when you are pulling carts, hay rakes or whatever). I have a photo of my great-great grandfather and his Percheron horse from the early 1900s and it’s a similar build.

These are lovely stout European type Percherons but very different than the Percherons the Amish breed in the states that are tall, lean and lightly feathered.  Do you think there's going to be a split in the breed given how strong the differentiation is getting?

Sorry but this is not running a faem with horses. Light haulage  is fun - I know because I have done it for 60 years. I would love to see youmaking round bale hay with horse power only and not the kind of HP that comes via a pto or an hydraulic S V.. They are beautiful animals that deserve  recognition just don't sell us the fairy tale because they don't need need the fiction.
