The truly enlightened opinion is that every mass effect game is simultaneously the best and worst of the series

Two small changes would have made ME2 much better. First, the reason to bring back Shepard unaltered is the Cipher. Shepard can understand Prothean tech and data, and we probably need that. Much better than "he's a hero". Second, the Council could have just said "we can't help you in the Terminus for polical reasons, but if you're working with Cerberus that allows us to distance ourselves. Good luck!" They would still have been useless without being stupid.

It always rubbed me the wrong way that I couldn't just stare the Illusive Man in the face and scream "I KNOW YOU MURDERED ADMIRAL KAHOKU YOU PRICK"

But no I gotta work for Space Palantir 😭

"Really? Commander?"

"Probing Uranus..."

My name is Commander Shepard and this is my favourite ME2 on the citadel

I loved Jack's recruitment mission, but the conflict driving the quest was contrived. Warden Kuril randomly decided that I - Commander Shepard of the Alliance, saviour of the Citadel, Council Spectre and Cerberus' prized agent - was just going to step into a prison cell (after refusing to hand in my weapons mind you) and allow myself to be sold off? Seriously, what was he thinking, I literally had an advanced warship parked outside the station.

Discovering you're working for Cerberus 2/3rds of the way through would be neat. Jack, Garrus, Tali, Jacob, Joker, Chakwas would all react with alarm, with Miranda, Mordin, EDI,  Chambers and maybe Grunt and Legion making a case for 'ends justifying means'.

I went into ME2 blind and basically did Arrival immediately after Horizon, because naturally you'd assume that if it unlocks so early and it involves Reapers this will be an essential element connecting ME2's main plot. It was very funny to go back from "Oh, I guess these guys will arrive in literally 2 hours from now" to Collector shenanigans that wouldn't end up mattering much at all in the grand scheme.

hearing cerberus referred to as "the space IRA" wasnt on my bingo card for this year

39:00 this has to be the funniest “Critical mission failure” in the entire game. Death by Shepards uncontrollable horniness

Legendary collection has exposed Mass Effect 2 and given new appreciation for ME3. Wild times lol

video plays like its on 20% vol
commercials vol =99% vol

Regarding how Cerberus knew it was Shepard they were bringing back and how they found Shepard - "Mass Effect: Redemption" (Comics), "Lair of the Shadow Broker" DLC (ME2) & "Citadel" DLC (ME3) explain it thus [SPOILERS];

Liara found Shepard's body (still in-suit that survived the atmosphere fall mostly-intact) on the ice planet the SR-1 got attacked over and crashed upon by hunting for it with help from Shadow Broker resources, betrayed the Broker and went on the run by handing Shep's body to Cerberus.
During Project Lazarus to rebuild Shepard from being a corpse - they were also Cloning Shepard (with rapid aging tech to bring the Clone to Shep's age), as both a 'backup plan' (incase Lazarus failed) and as an organ donor (incase Lazarus mostly worked but not completely).
When it became apparent that Lazarus worked, Cerberus mothballed the Clone Project, but not before it ended up creating a complete Clone without the mental stability or personality of Shepard - this led in to the events of the "Citadel" DLC.

Great timing! I'm about 10hrs into ME2, and loving it so far

My biggest gripe is that we spend 70% of the game fighting mercs while the main antagonists of the games are collectors.

I like the first game the most, because its plot is somewhat grounded: you're out to track down a rogue spectre and then a lot of revelations come along the way.

2:02:27 I like that Harbinger looks so annoyed it has its hands on its hips/

The only thing i did not like about this game was the end boss being a giant purple terminator, built off human stew. I literally laughed out loud when i first saw it.

Honestly as much as I love the Suicide Mission, they really wrote themselves into a corner by making it be at the end of the second game instead of the third

I do find it funny that the entirety of this game, including the nuclear level beginning, ends up being a series of side quests that ultimately lead to one of the funniest lines in all the video game history.

"Shepherd! I thought you died!"
"I got better"😂😂😂

And with that, the flaws of Mass Effect 2 were washed to clean
