35:48 "the brain knows, but the body is incapable" actually hits me so hard as someone who grew up dancing and is now in her 30s with chronic pain. Much love to everyone else dealing with something similar ❤️ Just added the book they were talking about ("Daughter of crows") to my book list! (And Inkblood to my Steam wishlist!)

As a Children’s Librarian it is so funny to hear yall talking about children’s books for so long! If you haven’t checked them out yet, the coolest, chillest, non-grumpy popular animal character is Pete the Cat. Quite a few of the books have (imo) very fun, easy songs to sing along to them like “I Love My White Shoes” and “Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons”, and adults and kids love hearing them read aloud.

But if you like grumpier characters, one of the most popular over-the-top and often contrarian but fun beloved character is the Pigeon, from “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.” “The Pigeon Won’t Count to Ten” is a board book (great for babies) and is a rare, funny counting story.

Sorry, I’ll turn the librarian-mode off. 😅

My favourite part of the cracking is Julia looking into the zoomed in camera

OMG, I just watched the bookshop simulator VOD and got sad when I saw it was the only one, so I'm elated to see some more bookshop content.

ah, what i did, for anyone who was planning on playing this game, is hire the lvl 1 1 employee asap and set them on register immediately, and then if a big line built up, id swap them to stocking. once the store closed at 8, id stop stocking and just let them stock for as long as it took (sometimes even removing a few books so theyd get more xp)

that can help a lot since they level fairly quickly

Jacob being a cat in a two cat household makes perfect sense. I'd say he's an orange to Julia's tuxedo, but he's got more braincells than oranges do, so maybe more a flame point siamese.
(Tuxedo cats are supposed to be energetic and talkative acting like kittens into adult hood, but every tuxedo cat I have known and owned has been chill.)

What an absolute gem of a thumbnail. Love the little Julia poking out of the cat tree. Thank you, Khaz!

The very angry caterpillar reminds me of that one children’s book that’s just “this ladybug hates everyone and wants to fistfight them” which was incredibly good. Angry ladybug my ally my friend

2:16:00 OMG WOW!!! I've been following that artist for years now on Tumblr, and it's so exciting to finally see their comic coming into the world! Juliette is such an inspiring artist and she absolutely deserves the hype you're pouring on her!!

The stocker/stalker thing is so funny to me because in my midwestern accent, they are 100% no ambiguity homonyms. They are the same exact sound. So hearing him actually say the L in stalker to clarify is so weird to me
