I got Covid last week so I wanted to play something fun and nostalgic. With the announcement of Nintendo Switch Sports I thought it'd be a good time to revisit this absolute classic again. Thanks for all the well wishes too guys :)

John Golf: pulls out pistol
“I’LL SHOW YOU A HOLE IN ONE”

RT: makes jokes about often roleplaying as an abusive father
RT five minutes later: is roleplaying as an abusive father

I love how aggressive that intro is
Like he is playing resort out of SPITE

I love how wii sports has actual characters with somewhat of an implied backstory

Because you have Matt, the champion in most combat related sports like boxing and swordplay, and even being a coach in the training modes, but he’s also tried out Tennis, being not as good at that sport, putting him at a lower difficulty

I love how, over the course of a few holes, John Golf morphed from a middle-aged guy who doesn't really care about golf, to an abusive psycho.

It is absolutely beyond me how nintendo has not yet realised how much people LOVE the Miis. One of the major reason Miitopia is as popular as it is is due to the huge customizations for the Miis

Rip John Golf, may he rest in peace. He really did show us alcohol poisoning.

Von Karma: “for you see John, it was I who hit your ball into the water!”

John Golf: “I’LL HIT YOU INTO THE WATER!”

Wii Sports Resorts is THE most nostalgic game for me. One of the most memorable Wii games

I love how John Golf started as just a sad depressed guy and turned into an alcoholic dad and then finally became a violent man with clear PTSD who wields a gun on a gold course.

I can't wait for John Golf to be a recurring character in this community

Edit: "John Golf seems to have pulled out a shotgun from a secret gun compartment and is now threatening his caddy." said the golf commentator calmly.

I love how it always says "stop" in the middle of your wildly violent combos like the miis are asking you to stop so desperately that they violate the rules of the medium to get their message across

The John Golf commentary is honestly the best thing I've ever heard.

Interesting fact about bowling for anyone who didn’t know: the split that RT got on his first shot at 4:40 is actually harder to make than a 7-10. I always called it a Greek church, although I’m not sure if there is actually a proper name for it. I’m gonna stop talking now because I don’t know how interested people would be with something about bowling.

about the "give the children a margarita" thing - my parents always tell the story of a kid in their block who got caught smoking a cigarette at age, like, 13, and his dad made him smoke a massive fucking cigar to scare him away from ever smoking again. apparently it succeeded

Reminder to everyone watching this in the future that this stream was supposed to just be a Just Chatting stream talking about a few things that happened and out of nowhere RT pulls out Wii Sports Resort without warning.

May we all salute I Want Die, who, despite living a life of achievement, never managed to actually die

the bit about Mr. Golfs son referring to him as Mr. Golf in a moment of terror actually had me spit my water out on myself

The next Wii Sports game will include a mode where you sit in the hospital after having half of your bones turned to dust by some dude who's really good at boxing.
