It has a bit of the whistle like the old VW Beetle air cooled engines had. Very unusual engine, built specifically for torque and I think it was a smart idea.
Nice test! 👍Got last years model with DCT and rode more than 5000 miles with it and never regretted buying the auto transmission. Such a great thing for every day commute and also winding roads.
I've just done a 2,500 mile European tour on my 2025 NC750 and it was fine. Over 200 mile per tank and was great on the twisties, (in manual mode) and excellent on the motorways. No vibes at all and for me, all day comfortable. I was a bit concerned about dropping down from a Tiger 900GT, with the decrease on power, but to be honest, I never really missed it. The power is delivered really low down, so even on the very steep twisties, with the switchbacks, it pulled like a train. Good review by the way.
60HP truly is a sweet spot. You are faster than most cars and truly faster than most car drivers and that's the important thing so you can control your position in traffic handily, that's my baseline really. If I can cleanly and handily pass at any typical motorway speed, that's all I really need. I've managed to survive into my fifties and a bike like this to me is a true cruiser, comfort, agility, usable motor, just let me enjoy the ride.
I've had my 2024 NC 750X DCT for just over 12 months now and absolutely love it, I did have concerns coming off my Tiger sport 1050 , but the NC has plenty of torque so overtaking I don't find an issue, and great fun in the Twisties, I find my back brake is adequate TBF , and riding with a pillion is no mither either, great review bud , and yes all bikes need a frunk 😁
I’ve owned an NC with DCT for 3 years, and I think I finally understand what this bike is made for – it’s the ultimate commuter. You can tour on it, but it’s not the best choice: wind protection is only average, comfort isn’t really there, and the power can feel lacking for overtaking in certain situations, especially when fully loaded. But as a commuter, it’s hard to beat – it gives you the convenience of a scooter without actually being one.
There’s a guy in South Africa managed over 500km on one tank. I’ve managed 95 mpg riding in a group in the Balkans on the Canary Motorcycle Tours DCT bike and keeping up with way more powerful bikes. That’s over 290 miles. Loved it.
I love that you took it over the "test track" from Grane rd. Got the 2015 dct and its a great bike, not had a go on a newer one. I get about 130-140 to a tank but thats riding with mates on silly bikes 😂
That thing does sound funky. Almost like a BMW boxer with exhaust made from a coffee can. Great video. I'd love to get your opinion on good beginner dirt bikes for adults. I'm in the market, and I know you love your off-road.
i got mine last week, funny you saying you stepped off a Rocket 3 to ride this as i traded in my Triumph Thunderbird 1700, it is certainly different but i now love it, so light and flickable compared to the huge Triumph
Nice review, the NC was on my short list last year but the lack of cruise control was a deal breaker for me, great bike at a great price though. Be careful stopping down doggers lane to do your walk around 😂😂😂😂
I am 61 and have had all sorts of bikes over the last 45 years , this is so nice and easy to ride and can be fun in sport mode
