This movie traumatized the shit out of me as a kid. I was probably like 7 or 8 years old when my grandma watched this while babysitting me. Him being buried alive, and he scene where you see the guy without his eyes. haunted me for years

This is one off my favorite adventure movies. It's not winning awards but the characters are likable and fun. I miss movies like this.

18:21 A popular fan theory, based on the year it's set, his age, and his social class, is the Jonathan was a junior officer in the British army during WWI. Explains his alcoholism, uncaring attitude, and occasionally demonstrated ability with guns.

This is one of those movies that work so well that it never gets boring no matter how many times I see it.

26:44 lol naughty, naughty...

you had me cracking up when you yelled "Vai de capul meu," i think when i saw it the first time my sister yelled you SOB and threw her glass at the TV lol... The difference between Anubis and Seth is Seth is the volatile god of chaos, storms, and the desert, whereas Anubis is the solemn, dignified protector of the dead, mummification, and the afterlife.

Brendan Fraser screaming back at the mummy when he first sees him is badass and hilarious.

Got nothing deep and meaningful to say about this except that this movie was mine and my wife's first date.

Fun fact! In the scenes where they climb out of the river and are on the bank, the gown the actress for Evelyn is wearing is CGI. Basically, somehow no one noticed that the nightgown became completely see through when wet and she wasn't wearing anything underneath. Since A. the actress hadn't agreed to do any nudity and B. even if she'd been cool with it, leaving it in would have raised the film rating too much, someone had to go in and paint the gown opaque frame by frame.
