Cool to see what simon was up to in his 20's

Thumbnail: Ummm Simon...? THIS YOU??

"He did not believe that President Vladimir Putin would sacrifice the lives of innocent children." This is why you need to do research on your opponent before you take hostages. It only works if they care about keeping the hostages alive more than they care about beating you.

He put down the Macintosh and picked up a Kalshnikov.

I thought Simon was doing a podcast on himself! 😅

So basically in the end, one of the most rutheless and worst terrorists that ever lived, was terrified by how little Putin cared about the lives of civillians and children?

"Hello, I'm Palm Beach Pete!" moment 😅

Simon, please do a video on the blown up residential buildings in russia in 1999. I believe your team would be amazed to see what you will find (including evidence of involvement of the FSB).

I’m picturing Basayev saying “you expect me to believe this, is a live *BOOM!*”

I've had a morbid interest in Shamil and Chechnya since the early 2000s while attending college. So cool to see a full vid by you on him.

Bin Laden had a coalition after him, Basayev was in Russia were even Russia tends to not care about Russia from time to time.

I’m from Chechenia I saw Basaev playing football. I was 13 years old at the time when I saw him

Never ask simon what he did in 90's Russia

Here is what the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy wrote about the Chechens’ war for their independence back in the 19th century:

‘The old men, the heads of the households, gathered in the square and, squatting down, discussed their situation. No one even spoke of hatred toward the Russians. The feeling experienced by all Chechens, from the youngest to the oldest, was stronger than hatred. It was not hatred, but a refusal to recognize these Russian dogs as human beings, and such disgust, revulsion, and bewilderment at the senseless cruelty of these creatures, that the desire to exterminate them — like the desire to exterminate rats, poisonous spiders, and wolves — was as natural a feeling as the instinct of self-preservation.’

P.S. So this struggle has lasted for no less than 300 years.

In September 2024, it became known that a portrait of Shamil Basayev was featured in the "Heroes of Abkhazia" exhibition at the State Museum in Abkhazia. The museum was restored with Russian financial investments in 2013. After the incident was reported the Russian media, the exhibition was closed.

This guy was a monster, but the Russians created him.

He was bred to hate Russians like Hannibal was bred to hate Romans.

YES A BASAYEV VIDEO

7:11 We’re not Turkic though, we are Nakh

Damn good content this week Simon 🤘
