Americans absolutely knew about them during this period. They unfortunately were competing with a lot of popular bands during the states, Woodstock 94, etc and they didn’t have the same impact like they did in Europe.  I think them touring last year in the states showed how America knew who they were and it was almost like they experienced what it would have been without the competitive nature of 90’s era music.

I remember watching their concert on MTV ( G Mex).  I said out loud, "I can't understand why this band isn't more here.  Their music is really good"!  It really is great to see them back.   I saw them in New Jersey and they were absolutely outstanding

Born and raised in D.C. and I still remember the first time I heard them when my brother played supersonic. We are top 0.001 listeners on Spotify for the last 10 years and until this World Cup with wonderwall playing after England, hardly anyone knew oasis and if they did they hated them. Always stuck by them anyways and saw them last year in New York

I saw Oasis in Boston around the turn of the century. They were awesome. Love em.

Had Oasis not wasted so many amazing songs as B-sides to WTSMG singles and instead released them as the 3rd album along with some of the B-sides that released on the Be Here Now singles, they’d have done much better everywhere and not just the US.

How Stay Young, The Masterplan, Acquiesce, The Fame & ( I’ve got ) The Fever weren’t singles for the 3rd album was intentional career damage.

The best songs of that era were hidden away for only the most dedicated fans to hear while everyone else got Magic Pie 🤦‍♂️

I loved Oasis back in the 90s and has been my favorite band for 30+ years … went to see them in Heaton park, LA and México city 5 shows 3 countries   for Oasis 25 … for me still the best band

Oasis never failed in America. Infact they did very well considering all their problems there. If your second album goes 4 times platinum within it's first year is huge success. Having three Top 5 albums there, playing arenas and now stadiums. Let us just conclude they are huge Stateside.

Whenever I visited America in the 90's they were on the radio, on MTV and featured on shows like Clueless, Roswell, Celebrity Death Match etc

American here I love oasis they are my favorite band. I’m from the Midwest and there isn’t a lot of people here that really know about them. From my experience talking to other music fans in the US. I kinda came to the conclusion that there a lot more well known on the east and west coasts of the US. Like NYC and LA. I know it sounds weird but everybody I know who lives those areas knows them. I’m from Ohio and I have met less than a handful who are genuine fans or even know them. A lot people just think of wonder wall and just thought they where one hit wonders.

I’m Blur - or more specifically Damon Albarn - all the way. But this video has made me appreciate Oasis a lot more. That swagger was the last of its kind.

The Beatles grew up listening to Buddy Holly, Elvis, Chuck Berry, and Fats Domino.  They were obsessed with American music.

Noel and Liam listened to The Stone Roses, T-Rex, Bowie, The Smiths, Sex Pistols, and of course, The Beatles.  They didn't particularly care about breaking through in the US.

I’m Gen X and grew up in the states and Oasis are my favorite band of all time. Their biggest record in America though was probably Be Here Now, that’s when they really cracked America. Back then there was no internet so Oasis weren’t in America MTV or radio like they were in Britain, you had TO KNOW about them so the ppl who knew about oasis around the time of Definitely Maybe in the USA were the cool kids who were into music. Oasis were a cultural phenomenon in the UK and Wonderwall was HUGE in the US. I don’t think they failed in the USA just weren’t the massive cultural movement like they were in Britain

All I remember is that Oasis was ALL OVER MTV from 95-97. They had a couple of documentaries on the channel, two of the VJs loved them and they even had their Be Here Now G-Mex gig televised on MTV. Hardly anyone got that treatment.

First heard Oasis on a radio station here in LA. SuperSonic and live forever. Liked it but wasn’t anything big. I was a kid in high school about 14 y/o.

II remember ordering cds from a music club the next year where I ordered what’s the story morning glory. Fell in love either way the whole album.

By the time I was old enough, I couldn’t see them anymore for their obvious issues. I have their full catalog on LP now just amazing.

When they announced their reunion I bought my ticket to see them in Manchester 07/19/2025. What an electric feeling. I also saw them here at home at the Rosebowl. While they’re not my favorite band of all time because there was a big gap, they are amongst my all time favorite.

Lifelong Bostonian..
I loved them then, and my Son and I love them now.
Drove down to Jersey last summer to see them.
They blew it in America in the 90’s. They only have themselves to blame. All the antics would’ve been fine if they just showed up and played the songs when they were supposed to.
Oh well. They’re back and they will Live Forever.

American here love their music the only thing that stopped oasis is oasis we love those guys just by the time we got to love them they got to hating eachother and we have a rapid changing landscape of music here especially then but if your talking about fans in America the guys rock we’d love to see them together live

American Oasis fan here. So sorry that we were the dickheads about them. I was 10 in 1996 and thought they were charming young lads.

Also blame their record label in America who never promoted them properly after Morning Glory. That and the fact they were blacklisted from a lot of Anerican media and radio stations after some of their behaviour. It's a miracle they still sold out huge shows at Madison Square Gardens, Hollywood Bowl and now stadiums there. Next year they are rumoured to play more stadium shows there. Oasis had the last laugh but their music deserved way more radioplay than it gets. And a song like Stop Crying Your Heart Out should've been a massive hit there but wasn't plugged by the revord label.

Please male a video on the Be Here Now era

I asked my older brother who grew up in the 90s and his opinion is that it was an over saturated market and there just wasn’t enough room on peoples play lists for another foreign rock band, to add insult to injury we’re from the PNW specifically Seattle area and the folks around here at the time did not take kindly to Noels perceived diss on Kurt Co bain

America loves Oasis. At least in my world.
