The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept voting for the axe. The axe was clever and convinced the trees that since his handle was made of wood, he was one of them.

The way history repeated itself is actually insane

Holy. Shit. My grandpa told me “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me.” I had no idea he was just parroting Reagan.

People forget that he gave inspiring speeches because he was an actor.

Boomer here. (75 yo) i hatred Reagan in the eighties and hate his destructive policies still. Regarding the homeless situation which he helped create, I remember him saying, " They're not sick. They're just lazy." His prognosis was and is despicable. But many Americans believed him and still do. Disgusting.

Donny didn't even come up with his own slogan he just stole it from another TV actor and put it on a hat.

Reagonomics works we just gotta try doing it again for the 14th time

Thatcher was his sidekick and destroyed the UK in similar ways as Reagan for the working class, middle class, and created a smorgasbord for the rich!

@Frankdom777 1 month ago

Reagan also capped social security. The rich haven’t paid their fair share since this. Consequently, the program is in rough shape

The worst part in this is that millions of Americans let themselves get brainwashed by billionaires into idolizing them and even come to their defense when the rich try get squeeze even more out of the poor and the middle class. I will never understand how so many people can get fooled this badly

He's the guy who turned the "american dream" into the religion of the dollar it is today

He indirectly killed the mentally ill by destroying the institutions that once cared for them. Now we have rampant homelessness and a mental health problem that helped get us in this mess

The damage that Reagan, Thatcher, Mulroney and other western neoliberal leaders caused is why we have a housing crisis, an affordability crisis, and a climate crisis. They screwed us all to feed the rich.

It’s scary that the most accurate form of reporting is found in YouTube these days

Reagan saw youth protesting against the war in Vietnam, and said these people get everything from the system and are comfortable, they should be in survival mode to never oppose the system. He was truly evil.

A decade as a union president then destroyed unions for everyone else...no wonder boomers worship Reagan.

I'm Gen X , the unwarranted demonizing of Unions (the only power workers have against corporations) and hijacking of education by banks for loans has slowly destroyed the low and middle class.
