Enjoy a great "kitchen-fire-side" chat with acclaimed author, outdoor educator and camper extraordinaire, Kevin Callan, also know as The Happy Camper! After you enjoy this video with Kevin, be sure to check out a fun whisky fireside with Julia and I over on his channel here: Whisky Fireside Chat #54 - Film Maker Chri... and don't forget to subscribe to his channel if you haven't already!

You can also purchase a copy of Kevin's latest book "Once Around Algonquin: An Epic Canoe Journey" here: https://amzn.to/2NhGuii which I highly recommend - it's a fantastic story about one of the most difficult canoe routes in Algonquin Park, which I could barely put down!

Also, please remember to like, comment and subscribe, or perhaps share the video with others if you enjoyed it - we really appreciate all your help! Thank you! :)

That was as hard-hitting an interview as I've ever heard Kevin give. Nice work!

My wife is a film maker/ media producer and also has the ability to cut straight to someone's soul in interviews. This was a great match of a great interviewer and someone who is great at being interviewed. Both under appreciated skills.

Thank you Julia and Chris for inspiring me!

Great interview! A hiker I follow on YouTube always says that the worst day on the trail is better than the best day in the office. Can't argue with that.

I found your channel from Kevin's fireside chat and I am really enjoying your videos. The outdoors is so enjoyable at every level but, let's face it we can not always be in the wilderness, and watching and listening as others enjoy the things I enjoy is amazing. Thank you

Excellent Job Chris, I have watched many of Kevin's videos and listened to his presentations. You did a fantastic job of interviewing him. I now feel I have a better understanding of him and why we feel the need to do the FUN things in the Wilderness that we do. Thanks

Two (three with Julia in the background of course) of Canada's outdoor greats right here. Both have been an inspiration to me and rejuvenated my love for what our great country has to offer. Fantastic interview!

Loved this video! I always enjoy watching people like you Chris and Julia, and Kevin, out on your adventures, but it's really interesting also to just watch you all sit down and talk about the adventures and some of these more serious topics! Kevin's video was great too!

Thoroughly enjoyed your interview with Kevin Callan. He is such a great writer and his tips and reviews of each paddle helps me and my husband plan for our next Algonquin adventures. Loved all your difficult questions you asked and enjoyed all of the stories of Kevin. We hope to get to have Kevin sign our book one day.

There is nothing like going backpacking into the wilderness, away from the maddening crowds and disconnecting from the grid. Being one with nature, enjoying an early morning coffee while watching the mist in the lake and a lovely loon call is something we can never find anywhere else. We only have 1 book of Kevin's which is a Paddlers Guide to Algonquin Park and we hope to be able to do all his recommended loops. We are more mature campers, (57 and 54 years) and enjoy everything about canoeing, camping and discovering new lakes. I am an artist and paint mainly landscapes and my inspirations are all of our experiences and memories while canoeing. Last year, we finally bit the plunge and bought our very own canoe, which we name "Kermie" because she is green. So far, we have visited at least 12 lakes this summer/fall. Since we both work and get few weeks off, every chance we can get to canoe, we GO!! Yippee! All the very best and good luck to you , Cedar and Julia!!!
