Great interview Jake! -- Edgar

Acouple of things.... First, Bill has said this repeatedly: "I didn't know YES was going to be a rock band, I thought it was going to be a Jazz band."" Really??? What could have possibly made Bruford think Squire, Jon Anderson and Tony Kaye were Jazz musicians??? I am not buying that bullshit for a second. he HAD to know YES wasn't going to be a jazz group. Maybe Peter Banks had talked some real jazz or even played some jazz here and there with Bruford early on but that would be about it for jazz from the initial YES lineup. So I'M NOT BUYING IT BILL. Secondly, and I have said this a thousand times, I DON"T CARE HOW BAD BRUFORD WANTS TO BE CONSIDERED A JAZZ DRUMMER, HE IS NOT A FKIN JAZZ DRUMMER PERIOD. He moved more and more towards real acoustic jazz as time went on, BUT, HE AIN't A FKIN JAZZ DRUMMER. SORRY.Great rock and progressive rock drummer, but not a Jazz drummer and CERTAINLY NOT a great Jazz drummer.
