It's not that the movie is good - it's that the nostalgia for the OG cartoons is real.

R.I.P. Anton Yelchin (Clumbsy Smurf’s actor)

I was obsessed with the smurfs (both these movies and the cartoon version) when I was a child and I can confirm that when you’re like 8 years old, putting “Smurf” in front of every word was indeed very funny (or “Schlumpf” because I’ve never actually seen this in English, only the German dub)

This is a childhood classic for us 2000s kids. Loved this movie growing up.

I don't know why these movies get so much hate . Yeah the dialog is very cringe but I liked it when I was 10 and it's still pretty funny

Its been years later and im just now realizing "I kissed a smurf and I liked it" is a reference to smurfettes voice actress Katy perry who has a song called "I kissed a girl and I liked it"

Gargamel is the best character in this

Smurfette is by far my most all-time favorite Smurf.

Smurfette said I kissed a smurf and I liked it
Because the actor is katy perry
Who sang
I kissed a girl.

Hank Azaria is a legend, carried this film as Gargamel.

Gargamel is the first one wanting to eat little creatures. Trolls copied them. I loved the 80s cartoon show as a kid and this sticks to it pretty well.
