This is an attempt at the Team Silent Any% speedrun category, where you must complete Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4 back to back consecutively.
Final result screen time for each game is added together for the overall run time.

hearing that you'd played at evo, and are a fighting game fan, is awesome. I'm actually watching this in between Strive sets since matchmaking has been taking longer lol

Cool to hear you talking through your thoughts on upcoming SH1 Remake. While you were doing so you were going through the 4th floor of Alchemilla bit and it got me thinking, goodness me, this could be one of the parts that suffers the most from the modern insistence of having no camerawork and everything being replaced by over-the-shoulder. Like... I hope they find a way to keep that as intact as possible, and as subtle as it is, because that's one of the bits that stuck with me the most way back when I got the game when it was out, having no idea even what sort of game it was, and played through it.
Even though since SH2 Remake was way better than I had any right to expect, I have way more trust for the team... I still think it wasn't perfect, and still have some worries. Speaking of moments that'll be wrecked by a lack of camera angles, how about that start in the alley? Although having had the PAL version, it'll be different from my own experience anyway (due to grey children in the PAL version having been replaced with mumblers due to censorship weirdness). But yeah, I thought they made some of the SH2 otherworld a bit brown and slimy, a bit more uniform than it should've been. Cool for a few places, but too much. They also went back to the well on the arm-diving way too many times... 3 would've been fine, given the game length increase (compared to the original twice).
But there were a lot of parts they introduced that I liked too. I really liked the Saul St apartments, for instance. Great area.
I hope they don't go with the mess of a boiler explosion explanation that Origins introduced, and just ignore that instead and stick with the true explanation of it being a ritual that was set on fire by accident. It makes zero gosh-darned sense whatsoever, but somehow a lot of fans fail to understand that. It also argues with some stuff in SH3 directly. But mainly I hate it because it makes no practical sense at all, to make a deliberate fire in a wooden house far away from the hospital basement... when you have the hospital basement you could've done it in (avoiding small town front page news, very public need for transportation, even the need for Lisa to be coerced into service rather than an actual trained loyal cult member, etc). Please please please, let them avoid this nonsense.
It's not just hopes of things they won't do, though. I've got hopes of things they might expand on, too! It'd be rad if you could go into the post office... would feel kinda like that special moment in SH2R when you realise you can go in the flower shop. I hope they just let you get both "gas tank" weapons on the first playthrough (perhaps making them less overpowered to compensate), although that won't be a big deal if it's the same. SH2R gave the mandarin enemies a much-needed glow-up and I love that you actually ended up facing one, great... some of the behaviours of the SH1 enemies I still think remain the best (such as the subtlety of finding out you can just-about outrun the dogs but just-about not outrun the dactyls), but their looks were definitely missing some development, so that could be a thing. Mumblers would be my candidate. Outside of the PAL version which I had, they were hardly even in the game as I understand it. So... maybe make them behave significantly different? Ooh, the incorporation of the child ghosts will be interesting.
I bet they have to change that signiature radio wail SH1 has for a single enemy. I'd hope they don't because I love it, but I get that they'd want to be more consistent from one game to another. Oh goodness, I hope that "Radio?" line is EXACTLY as clunky. That's too signiature to change. You can make all the other dialogue smoother but please keep that bit just as it is (with a new voice actor, obviously).
I disagree about the sewers in SH1, a bit. Suppose I haven't played it through nearly as much as you have, though. But still, I like those areas. I like the layout of them a little bit, but mainly I love the look of them. If they do give them a big overhaul, then I suppose it's the least bad area to have to have that... I hope they don't have a big overhaul though... I hope no area does. They did that a little too much for my liking in SH2R. Woodside, Lakeview? Fine, cool. But Blue Creek just wasn't the same (including no "folded map" combination!). And Brookhaven could look that different, but should at least have had a "wing" that looked like the original. Those areas were just iconic in the way they were set out and I missed there being no remaining hint of that.
I agree about the glimpses of the past in SH2R. I get what they were doing, but yeah they don't need pointing out like that. I will praise them on how subtly the "white cloth traversible pointers" thing was done! That surprised me; I was very worried when I first saw that (because I'd seen it done SO much worse in other games, cough cough Tomb Raider reboot lol). I'm curious how they'll handle melee weapons. SH2 had that thing where one weapon was pretty much just an upgrade on the other, but it was definitely unusual for only having two. SH1, like the others, has more genuine choices... I kinda wanna be able to select between them like we could before, not just replaced. Worked well the once, in the exact right game for it... don't think it would work as well again.
And goodness me I agree about the missing doctor headphone cutscene in SH2R! I did miss that a lot.
Finally, I hope it's not limited to being a Playstation exclusive. Still can't play SH2R on my XBox and you're damn right I'm still sore about it. At this point there's literally no point to the exclusivity, anyway. The hype's done. Nobody's selling a new Playstation based on the game. C'mon, gimme my turn with it! But hell, if all I can do is to watch other people play it, and they don't in fact want my money, then I guess that's what it'll have to be. Not like I can afford multiple consoles or anything (and I have to think, that goes for the vast majority of people). SH1 is still my 2nd favourite of the games behind SH3 (and it's very close), and I am SO looking forward to the remake. Please, please let it avoid all that exclusivity nonsense. I wanna buy it, wanna play it. So hyped. It's not even like I'd be taking views away from the letsplayers... I tend to watch them anyway, and I tend to prefer it when it's something I've already gone through myself.

You mention in the video that SH2 Remake is by far the best selling game in the franchise. Do you think that would be the case if Konami had made 1-4 more easily accessible? Like available on Steam, GOG, etc?
