Wes Craven is remembered for horror classics like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream, but some of his most interesting films don’t always get the attention they deserve. In this compilation, we take a closer look at three underrated entries in Craven’s filmography: Scream 4, Red Eye, Shocker and The People Under the Stairs. Each film shows a different side of Craven’s style, from slasher reinvention to tense thriller to dark social satire.

Scream 4 is so underrated and Red Eye is one of the best thrillers

Horace Pinker is interesting as a character because even before the electric powers he literally showed that he was pure evil

Shocker is so fucking awesome. It was mine and my sisters fav as kids. Pops sure let us watch whatever the hell we wanted and we took full advantage. 😅

Unique nostalgia for Shocker. Only watched it one time. But it was a sleepover for my birthday when I was young; we binged 3 or 4 movies. Don't remember what else. This movie stuck out for being a bit bonkers and we enjoyed that little touch of the killer giving himself away by siging a line, "Tiiiiiiime is on my side, yes it is."

Honestly at the time I was a new scream fan in late 2010 to early 2011. Scream 4 for me was a great film to send off the series with Craven. Miss him so much.

Funny how they never mentioned Sydney's two year old daughter, Tatum in Scream 4 👀

I thought Shocker was something I made up in my head as a child 😂

Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and New Nightmare are my fav Wes Craven films but I do really like People Under the Stairs, Shocker, Red Eye, Swamp Thing, and Serpent and the Rainbow are all alot of fun too. I remember being so stoked for Cursed the creators of Scream were making a werewolf movie and I couldn't wait but unfortunately the movie was butchered by the Weinstein's to the point they basically scrapped and almost finished movie so they could make a PG-13 film instead. From what I've seen on the behind the scenes no version of this movie was ever going to be good but I'd still love to see that version
