What a performance. She looked like she was broken almost the whole 400m to go but dug in like a true champion. I've not heard a stadium rock like that since Farah in 2012.
Thank you English fans for supporting a Scottish athletic so vigorously!

This commentator is just the best man. The amount of historical moments he's made better with his commentary is unreal

Love when an athlete digs deep and pulls out a gold worthy performance 👏🏾 🏅

Brought a tear to my eye. You could see the pain etched on her face at the bell - I'm sure she felt like lying down and crying at that point!! You could see her digging in. She's gone through the pain barrier and went into a trance - she literally transcended herself. Well worthy of a Gold medal. That was superhuman!

I was in the stand when her mum won in Edinburgh. What a family! To beat the Kenyans is exceptional.

What a great race. Steve cram commentary was amazing. And the Birmingham crowd was out of this world. 👏🍻

What an absolutely incredible performance. That's one talented family. Congratulations Eilish!

Just seen this now. As a 42 year old man who remembers her Mams races I broke down in tears of joy in those final 100 metres. Amazing performance lass!

This will go down as not only one of the great Commonwealth Games moments of all time but also an iconic moment of all sporting history.

We were screaming out heads off at home and we’re not even Scottish! That was epic.

An all time great 10,000m performance right here. Scottish running is in a fantastic place at the moment.

Privileged to have witnessed this, myself along with thousands of people as I write this are on their way back from Alexander Stadium Birmingham sleepy yet satisfied from a tiring and supremely energetic day. Wonderful

I watched Eilish's mother win her gold, amazing all these year's later seeing her daughter emulate her mother. Congratulation's to them both.

Wow! What a performance. Congratulations to Eilish, and her immortal mum Liz, who must be very proud. That was a tough race to win.

What a fantastic, gutsy run from Eilish. Talented, beautiful and a WINNER. She is the flower of Scotland. I had goosebumps watching your win. We are all so proud of you.
Well done. Lots of love.

Brings me out in goosebumps. What a crowd. That noise. So much respect for athletes like Eilish. They deserve all the plaudits they get. The mental strength in these people. They've got to be a bit mad to dedicate and sacrifice so much to achieve this success but they certainly have my respect.

So pleased for Eilish. I watched her mum when she was racing. As Liz said the public don't see the work that has to be put in. The training, day after day, week after week. The injuries, the doubts, the mental struggle of telling yourself that it is all worth it. That gold medal makes it worth it. Incredible run. Congratulations. ❤️ All credit to the 3rd placed runner who was clearly carrying an injury but battled to the bronze.

Well done lassie. Like mother like daughter. Superb, Scotland is proud of both of you. And what about the noise from that crowd. Well done Birmingham   👏👏

Brilliant commentary from Crammie!

Gold medal winner Commonwealth Champion and New games record holder ...Congratulations 🥳🎉🎊
