Kevin Poulsen is a true example of a person turning their life around. After serving his prison sentence, Poulsen used his computer skills to assist the FBI to stop internet banking scams, terrorist financiers and online sexual predators. He later became an editor at ‘Wired’ magazine.
Charita and Nikki’s story made me cry. I had major surgery when I was twelve years old. My spleen began to rupture when I was six years old and for six years I was misdiagnosed by doctors. When my the rupture it caused my spleen to soak up all my blood.
I was clinically dead for a minute and a half. I had surgery and had to stay in the hospital for two weeks. I never had a roommate and I remember feeling lonely sometimes. I did get to meet and play with other kids in a game room at the hospital. I do have fond memories of a nurse named Karen who helped me be brave every time I felt scared.
I am 40-years-old now and never had any kids because of other medical complications. I was born with Sickle Cell Anemia and that’s what caused my spleen to rupture.
Watching this episode made me wish I had a roommate back then. Someone to talk to late at night when I couldn’t sleep. My mom did stay overnight with me every weekend, but she and my dad had to work and couldn’t stay on weeknights.
This story also reminded me how great full I am to be alive. I should’ve died back then, but God speared my life and I will always be great full to be alive.
I like this episode, but I LOVED the Charita Harding episode. It was so selfless of her friend to share her daughter with Charita, since she does not have children. A BEAUTIFUL STORY!😘
The last story is absolutely beautiful. I forgot about it until this posting. Now I remember it as a kid. It's nice to know that friends, no matter how long they don't see each other, are always friends at heart and never forget each other. And not to mention the impact people can make on one another. So glad Niki found Charita and got to fulfill her wish. I wonder how they are doing now. Niki's little girl is all grown up now. I'm sure she knows all about their beautiful history. UM is amazing with these reunions.
So, on the first story the investigators were so thorough they knew the only things missing were 2 beers; and also knew that they must have been looking for a "piece of paper".
The first story is so weird on so many levels. Who are these two guys? Why did the first autopsy state that Stanley died from a stab wound when he was shot? Why the cover up from the original investigators? Really strange. 😕
The story of the two girls in the hospital really hits home. Couple years ago my son ended up with a extremely rare brain tumor, ATRT. While going thru treatment we made some friends, Harper. Unfortunately my son did not make it, but harper is still doing cancer treatment and is doing well. She still talks about kaine.
The case of Kevin Paulson is still one of my favorite episodes of unsolved mysteries probably because I like vintage technology and of course the reenactment itself.
