It’s time for another British Airways Fleet Update on Mark’s Trains, Planes & Trams — and this week there is plenty happening across the BA fleet.

The A380 operation continues to face significant challenges, and I take a look at what has been happening with BA’s biggest aircraft and the impact on the operation.

The Boeing 787 fleet is also firmly in focus. Aircraft availability has fallen to an exceptionally low level, while the 787-8 stranded at Pittsburgh remains out of service. I look at the latest position and what it means for an already stretched Dreamliner fleet.

There is some much more positive 787 news, however. BA’s first new-generation 787-10 powered by GE engines is now expected to be delivered in a matter of days. This is an important aircraft for British Airways — featuring GE engines, the Increased Gross Weight (IGW) modification and cabin-crew bunks, with the World Traveller cabin reduced from 165 to 160 seats.
