The Matrix was probably the first movie I saw in theaters where I walked out truly blown away. Everyone I was with was just silent. No one was excited. We were all still trying to grasp what we just experienced.

I feel blessed to have seen The MATRIX in the theatre before the age that every fucking movie surprise now instantly gets ruined via Youtube.  I had a movie I wanted to check out (unreleased) in which the surprise end was literally ruined via YT Headline and even a thumbnail that animated the ending in a little viewer.  I wasn't even searching for it.

My dad took me to Terminator 2 and I had no idea what I was about to see. Really blew me away. With Buckaroo Banzai, it was just on the Sunday afternoon movie on TV, and it confused the hell out of me as a kid.

I saw Die Hard in the theaters at 14 and it was the greatest movie experience of my life. It was amazing I didn’t want it to end.

The road warrior, blade runner, alien 2 and Scarface all left me stunned

Blair Witch, opening night. It was the first of it's kind. I remember it was promoted over the radio like it was real.  And that movie theater was scared to death when she was running and screaming.
I will say my favorite movie experience was planet terror/death proof grindhouse.

The Matrix and Jurassic Park were the 2 best movie theater experiences I’ve ever had

Always great to hear someone passionate talk about things they're excited about.

Matrix to this day is the only movie I went to see immediately after I just saw it. That last 10 minutes was just so damn amazing.

I quote that Jan interview every day lmao "Because it's so much fun Jan!"

I live in Massachusetts and we go down to the Cape every summer to our cottage in Eastham. The next town over(Wellfleet) has a drive in movie theater. During the dark days of Covid when films weren’t getting made they just showed older films. It was amazing. Saw Ghostbusters/Gremlins double feature one year. karate kid/jaws one year. And Back to the future/die hard. Great stuff!

Saw Die Hard, The Matrix and Aliens all at the cinema and it was packed every time… All 3 were great movie experiences… 💚

One of my best friends worked on the matrix crew in Sydney back in 1999 she said that Hugo Weaving was the nicest guy and that Lawrence Fishburne would put a tab up for the crew at a bar after each day of the shoot.

I used to go cinema instead of going school, I had spent the day at the cinema and I didnt want to go home, I was 14 the only film I hadn't watched was pulp fiction

I knew nothing about this film and in the uk was out before reservoir dogs, I saw Bruce Willis name on the poster. Thats was my deciding factor to buy a ticket.

So I went in blind

To this day I have never experienced a film like it, it wasn't the film it was the audience, no one knew what to expect and then it happens, the whole cinema was in fits of giggles, the gold wstch, the bring out the gimp.

This was the single most surprising experience I have ever had from a film I wasn't intending to see.

I have never been in audience like it.
If I could share this with quentin, I would as I would shake his hand for delivering a movie experience I have never experienced before or after.
And I saw all the 90s greats at the cinema.

Laughing with the person next to you thats a complete stranger.

The buzz was amazing and If I ever got the chance to meet the guy this would be what I would say to him.

😂

I remember seeing the screening times for Aliens when it was released thinking it was a very short movie. It was on nearly every 90 minutes and at that time, we had never heard of a movie being shown on multiple screens.

The way he talks about expectations, you're going to see this actor, or this type of film expecting an average-to-decent experience from them or that genre, feels very relatable when i think of how i went into Sicario, Fury Road and Top Gun Maverick

I love your channel

I remember gong to Die Hard at the theater with a couple buddies and it was the only action movie I actually felt an adrenaline rush throughout and the andrenalin dump when it was over...it really was a cinimamatic experience for me at the time. Black Hawk Down was probably the only other one years later.

The dark knight and the sixth sense are the best movies I saw in a theatre

I was working in Sydney while the Matrix was being filmed;   didn't know at the time but was sitting on my tiny balcony in Potts Point watching them film the Neo+Morpheus hanging from the helicopter scene over the CBD......     Then was the first movie I watched while being stoned......   prefect for that as they really filmed the scenes, not CGI (just wires);    was perfect.
