the actual wii theme

I remember I used to sleep with my Wii on occasionally as a kid after grinding out mario kart or GC games all night, just sit there and drift off into sleep... god I really miss those days... I boot up my wii now every once and awhile just to hear this menu music...

Good times

This is the sound of a safe space.. there’s no anxiety, no broken hearted, no stress, no need to worry about anything else but to enjoy the beautiful simplicity of living in curiosity and playing an amazing adventure..
Life is good..

The year is 2009. You wake up at 6:00 on a cold Saturday morning. Everyone is asleep. The weather outside is overcast and there is mist on the windows. You go to the living room where you see the cat sleeping on the couch. You turn the TV on and start up the Wii, keeping the volume low as to not wake your family up. You sit down next to the cat with the Wii remote in your hand, and proceed play for hours on end. You play everything from Wii Sports, to Mario Kart, to Brawl, to Mario Bros Wii, to Mario Galaxy. Life is simple. Life is easy. Life is good.

Everybody remembers the feeling of the TV being too loud, then the click sounds and you realize you have only an instant to grab the remote and turn it down before the menu sound happens.

It's 2008 you come home from school and turn on your Wii and hear this legendary sound

Life is good

It’s crazy that the Wii is about to turn 20 this year.

something about the wii menu music makes me cry after missing all the memories from those times

Finally after 2 days of looking… A wii menu that’s moving

All of my childhood in one console

Something about this just makes you feel calm and at peace. Like you’re sitting on a cloud and dreaming at the same time.

Despite the fact that it’s not really a song, I can still recognize each distinct part

I remember playing the Wii with my cousins all the time when I was little, and we used to play Mario kart, NSMBW, and Wii sports. We would be up all night playing these games. Then later I got my own Wii, and then a Wii U and then a Nintendo switch. But out of the three Nintendo consoles, I miss and enjoyed the Wii the most. Such nostalgic childhood memories.

I’m so glad to have older brothers that put me on the wii. i remember playing new super mario bros wii and super smash bros brawl a lot

Today, the idea of having a busy screen of all these channels feels overwhelming. But back when the Wii came out, we didn't really have anything like this. Each of these channels looked like they had something of value on them and we weren't yet overstimulated and distracted by phones. This is an optimistic view of what technology could have been, before it became an AI fuelled race to the bottom.

Happy (soon to be) 18th anniversary to the Wii!

Man, I really feel old at this point
