In today's video, Buzz tries to fix the damaged grille cloth and makes a fool out of himself. This
dumb act then starts the bad luck we will call the 'Curse of Dracula' š§āāļø
Not to be outdone, he then tackles one of the worst jobs everācleaning the dreaded dirty chassis. Can he mess up again? ......Then it's time to work on the cabinet. After taking a good look at it, Buzz decides to keep the original finish and use 'Howard's Restore-A-Finish. Finally, Buzz needs to fix the radio's dial string, which he stupidly broke while cleaning the chassis. With no wiring diagram, he will have to figure it out himself.š¢
To close out the video, Dickel returns with an interesting 'Dickel's Corner' segment featuring Buzz's young son, Chris, on the TV show Romper Room. š®

I've been watching your videos for a number of years now, and it's always entretaining to see how different technicians and restorers have each one his own approach. By the way, it was a very wise decision to keep the original finishing! A good alternative to restore wood that is only lightly scuffed, is to clean it well with some rubbing alcohol, then sand it very lightly with a 1500 grit sandpaper and apply two or three coats of shellac, which will "blend" with the original nitro varnish, rejuvenating it. I did it myself in one of my radios, and it got beautiful... But your radio doesn't even need that! It deserves to be kept as original as possible. :) 73s de PY2ALV.
That was a cute TV segment with your son. Great memories
Merry Christmas to you and your family Buzz.
This video was really a nice Christmas present.
Just in time. Thanks!
I remember our Bay Area Romper Room host in the 70s was Miss Mary Ann. She also had her magic mirror.
Wonderful video of your son.
Radio is looking great! I love those Howard's products. I used the feed and wax on all my wooden items.
