the thing to remember,is the actual logistics in what they need to do.....the new avatar area will take up all the space of monsters and building 17,plus about half of what is currently the transportation centers bus lanes....and,they have to build the bridge across harbor, over both monorail lines, landing on the other half  of the bus lanes....and,they have to leave an entrance/exit for foot traffic from harbor at the same time...since you cant re-route all the guests thru downtown disney.(about 50k guests a day) needless to say,it cant all be done at the same time....they will need cranes, etc to build the bridge, and this will take up a lot of space just for the construction zone......and still have an eastern gateway.....
this means avatar gets put off until the bridge is built....they can work on fixing up tomorrowland in the meantime.

Crazy how one weekend determined the future of disney

ROCKET RODS is the devils impression of the PeopleMover. NEVER should have happened!

I wish they would just keep the old Hollywood theme and revive the tower of terror but make like the Floridian version, bring back the great movie ride or a version faithful to it that could educate us how films were made then vs now, a drive in theatre eating

4:25 YES!!
I do love the map talk and zoom visuals! I love to go to Google Maps when listening to attractions in and outside of Disneyland.

The Peoplemover could be trackless. That would make the roadway itself the emergency escape.

10:22 PEOPLE MOVER - forever!!!

I would kill to see Disney actually open an original land or ride VS struggling to find whatever IP works for a theme park. IDK about DCA, but Tomorrowland has potential for adding something unique.

I think if they really want to do Tomorrow Land any justice and make it last for until the 100th anniversary, then I think it would be best to do a partial demolition and rebuild some things from the ground up. Because outside of Space Mountain everything is a retheme, nothing wrong with that, but things are trapped to those structures. They can rebuild Astro Blasters and Star Tours from the ground up, and probably another ride too.
I don't think we need the people mover back, it would be cool for rocket racers to come back with a track and layout designed for it.

22:20 I think the slow RELAXING rides are KEY to enjoying the FAST rides. It provides a rest, quiet, and a break from the loud and fast. NEED more slow, to make the fast more fun. YOU NEED BOTH!!!

Thank you!! Everyone I saw before the Tomorrowland update came out was saying that because they had the Avatar model out (which they only had half of it out) and the Avatar experience walk through that it was a go and greenlit. My thought is they threw out the old model,  again only half of it, and the experience to see what people said about it and how popular it was. From what I could see in videos, it wasn't overly popular. Most people I saw didn't wait long for the walk through at all, and most were underwhelmed by it and all the subsequent videos posted on avatar since are mostly people saying they don't want the Avatar experience at all, or like me, not in DCA now. I'm fine with it and kind of excited for it in the expansion, but not DCA.

Between Toontown and Galaxies Edge is an empty area that was set aside for the canceled sit down restaurant for Galaxies Edge.

What is the likelihood of this space being used for...
1. Fantasyland
2. Toontown
3. Galaxies Edge

I know Toontown has the Gadget Coaster storage track blocking access, as well as Mickey's House, to this space.

I know that a service road is in this area to get to backstage Fantasyland.

It has been reported that the large rectangular white building behind Smugglers Run was open to being used for attraction space.
(Once the inhabitants are moved off site)

A very good summary of the state of Tomorrowland and very informed speculation. Appreciate the insight.

I agree 100% about the concept of a high-capacity attraction that gives little kids, parents, seniors and anyone wanting a break something to do without waiting in an hour long line.

I remember People Mover  fondly as a 7 year old and KNOW my grandmother would have happily taken the younger kids to give my mom a break...all day long.

What's wrong with calm and pretty. Yes, add a few show scenes or murals and there you go: High capacity with a small staff and very little money.

Great work, Alex! I was surprised to learn after watching your last video that the peoplemover tracks aren’t exactly falling apart. While it would be cool to see it take a new route, I also think it would be cool to see it follow the original track. We shall see!

I hope they put a new ride in the Carousel building. But what about the Disney exec’s comments about “opening up space” in Tomorrowland? That implies they’re going to tear down something.

Great video Alex, I remember the Disney google map videos you did years ago and glad you are doing some more!

Wow, so much of Tomorrowland is defunct and empty.  That giant carousel building isn't anything.  No Alien Encounter.  No Stitch.  No People Mover.  Lots to do with this.

Finally someone said something that I can agree with in regards to a new Tomorrowland. I agree with you on the state of the people mover tracks. If those were really damaged they would have been demolished decades ago. I can see them doing a partial upgrade in time for the 75th, then do another phase after. Either way I'm excited for what's to come.

If you’re thinking about how they make the PeopleMover more interesting, look no further than the Florida version, or even the previous version in California. Florida has vignettes that act like futuristic billboards, you get to see the Progress City model that was originally going to be Epcot, the narration has little Easter eggs to past Tomorrowland attractions while giving you sneak peeks into rides from the sidelines. Disneyland’s PM used to have the Tron LightCycle speed tunnel in the carousel building. They could easily resurrect that while adding little show scenes allowing the way that just adds to the immersion of Tomorrowland as a sci fi city of the future. It’s more atmospheric and adds that little bit of detail that immerses you in the setting like Adventureland or Frontierland does with the Treehouse or the Rivers of America boats.
