This author has set back Nuclear War understanding by 25 years. She wrote a book for entertainment and to make money. She overstates most every assertion she has and hides behind “well this guy said”.
I’m glad you’re debunking nonsense quite often. We need more people like you. Scientific illiteracy may very well turn out to be the deadliest disease of all.
This woman irritates me. This entire interview is sensationalism at its worst. It's like taking the worst case scenario of each (of the many) variables that have to be considered, and then predicting the worst case end result of all of them. This is the sort of cold war paranoia that had people digging bunkers in their back yards.
I suspect that her actual research into this topic started and ended with the movie Threads and possibly the Metro novels. The rest was name dropping after about 30 minutes of “research” on Wikipedia.
"Where is she going with this?" - I was thinking exactly the same thing with the Göbeklitepe tangent! The reasonable fact-based scenarios of nuclear war are horrific enough without absurd exaggeration - it reminds me of high school students in the 70s being shown "Reefer Madness".. and laughing until they cried..
Oh pretty much addicted to your channel and I have no idea exactly why it just seems like somebody needed to do this and you seem to be the right guy doing it
Thanks for making that video, these weapons get rather mythologized. Also this idea that we would be back to the 'stone age' like all the steel on earth is just gonna evaporate or something. Good vid.
